I have had a lot of doubt in the work of bungie lately. Halo 3 was the worst halo so far basically because the fighting style, especially the melees were horrible for one, and you could jump ridiculously high to dodge grenades, and for two, the game was absolutely unbalanced. Especially after the newest one, halo: ODST my trust in bungie to make good games has been reduced to basically nothing. I am a huge Halo fan, and I can say that Halo 3 is the worst game I have ever played in my life, because all people obsess over is a 4 shot BR and no-scopes, and zero strategy.
So far my favorite halo is halo 1. The reason being is that everything about the game was thought-out and rational, all the weapons were balanced, aiming was about more than just having ridiculously fast reactions- it was about predicting the opponent's movement as well, (especially for the sniper rifle since it took a second for it to travel). Also, you actually had to TRY to dodge grenades, rather than just jump to easily evade them. Most importantly, all the weapons were balanced, and this is where I am already worried about halo:reach, because I noticed that one of the testers mentioned getting the "power weapons" using the sprinting. A good game has no power weapons, that is a great way to ruin the game. Halo 1 was a great game because you had to think, and racing to have a specific position which is the same every game, makes it so people only require the brains of a donkey to win, and just need to aim well. Purposely making people race to a specific position to get certain weapons every single game, makes the game garbiage. Halo 1 multiplayer went differently every time, and people had to respond to situations, not just race to the same position every game. I am sorry bungie, but I am extremely dissapointed with your work as of late, and I am hoping you can fix these things in Halo:Reach, and I am really hoping that those "power weapons" are not too powerful, and that there is a lot more thought in this game than Halo 3. Now don't get me wrong- I do see a lot of improvement in balance in Halo: Reach, but after seeing the words "Power Weapons" mentioned, I am thinking maybe there are still going to be many mistakes in Halo:Reach, and I really want a game closest to the absolute awesomeness of halo 1 gameplay.
