In last years Bungie day podcast, Roger Wolfson a.k.a. Sawnose told us to keep hold of our product keys for a reason he was then unwilling to disclose. Does anyone here know what happened to that incentive?

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

Om nom nom nom.

You know, Sawnose is awesome for patching up Halo after all these years and everything, but why did he even bother mentioning that on the podcast? It really just got everyone's hopes up for no reason.

*Sigh* Maybe Moifugley is right. I hear product keys are a delicacy over there at Microsoft.

So you wouldn't get rid of it. Because that would suck.

The reason I remembered this was because of the Reach beta, so perhaps this is connected to that, we might find out this month.

I beleive he was refering to the most recent patch he put out that removed the CD check. I think he put a key check in to replace it.

Why do you think they would give out Beta keys for an X-box games to a bunch of PC gamers?

He mentioned the keys long after that patch.

He later posted that he didn't mention them for any specific reason, although I highly doubt that to be true.

Of course it was without reason I mean it was all just so happening that they were talking about Roger having the halo 1 source during a pod cast stuff like that just happens, right everyone, I'm right, right? MHmmm... guess not.

All in favor of celebrating the 7th year anniversary of halo pc with a rebuild, say I! [Coming Fall 2010]

We'll celebrate the game by laughing at how it's outlived Halo 2 and how it'll probably outlive Halo 3.

Exactly. Halo Combat Evolved PC is a well rounded game. Frankly I'm surprised there aren't more people playing. With Halo Custom Edition available and a dedicated website like halomaps.org that has tons of downloadable custom maps, how could you not be enticed to play?

Just as long as people continue to play Halo 1 PC I'll be laughing too. :)

By the way, given that there's a reward in Halo Reach for Halo 2 players, their intention might have been to do the same for the Halo 1 players that are still around.

It'd make some sense since Halo Reach is their final Halo title before they move on.

But then again, who knows? Apart from Sawnose. ;)

I'm not bad, I'm Useless

What if the product key is a code that will give you the real Mark V armor that looked like Halo PC style? This would be pretty sweet skin armor for those people that still play Halo PC.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

Bungie Day

After this was sent out:

I thought maybe Bungie would allow Halo PC users to input they're CD Keys for a code to the Halo:Reach Beta. This would allow PC key holders to gain to access to the BETA just as Veteran Halo 2 Players will.
Is this just a pipe dream or what?

From this thread over in the Reach forum.

It'd make sense if it was access to the Reach beta, especially as the loyalty of Halo 2 players has nothing on that of the Halo 1 crowd. ;)

I was hoping it would be more Reach "visual flair". ;)
