I think it's good to jump higher, but Í think it would would be even better if you landed faster after you jump, so that you do not become an almost unmoving target. (screw 9.8 m/s^2 !)

jump powerup? maybe it makes you run faster and jump higher kinda stuff.. however we still dont know if there will be powerups in halo2

I like the high jumps. Jumping in Halo1 was hardly neccesary but now its useful for evading vehicles and hell, its nice to jump high with all that wind rushing across your face.

I always figured that you would jump higher on halo becuase there is much less mass to the structure so it was simple to me why I jumped higher. Not becuase MC has pumped up limbes and body armour. But the jump still shouldn't stay the same. If MC's powerfull legs were "a", then

low mass of halo + a = high jump.

Higher mass of Earth + a = lower jump but still super human.

And by the looks of it on the the E3 zanzibar level, situated on Earth, south africa it says, the gravity is still low, if not lower than halo 1! Makes absolutely no sense to me. When I first saw the boarding action I figuerd they put it in because you can't dodge the warthog by jumping anymore.

the out of the world physics is what made the last game good(in multiplayer) and when you sprint in halo 2 and then jump it increases in halo 2 i dont know about you but in halo 1 ithought it was unfair how the elites and flood could jump higher than i can and you forgot master chief is a super powered cyborg if he can take out a couple million flood by himself then i wouldnt doubt him.

Halo creates artificial gravity by spinning. All mass is pulled towards the inside of the ring.

Actually Halo's gravity is more a centrifugal force rather than standard gravitational as in a planet as your on a ring. As the ring spins you're pushed back onto the ring....*screams whilst remembering his physics lessons from many years ago...ohh the nightmares*.

they just got new armor thats the reason they jump higher but also they jumped quite high in the first game and you kinda have to jump high to board veicles

I know its not actual gravity. I'm not that smart by any means but I did say "artificial" and "pulled towards the inside of the ring" so I thought that was implied. And yes, damn those physics lessons. Grrr.

I remember reading a review of the e3 demo. i tink it was OXM. But they said that the jumping was really different for them, but after awhile they got use to it. If they can get use to it in less than a day, than by all means we can do the same.
