*Chapter 2*

O.N.I. Officer Jacob Peterson was head of the relocation process. Unlike other situation where he had to relocate Spartan III's to other groups, this one, Spartan 3928, was different. Peterson was ordered to do something crazy, something that may be frowned upon between his coworkers and underlings. His orders came from the top of O.N.I. ranks. He would have to put Spartan 3928 into a totally different group. His door opened, a pale man with a shaved cut wearing a standard military uniform walked in.

"Ah, Lucas take a seat" said Peterson. Lucas took a seat in Peterson's square office, only big enough to hold a desk, three filing cabinets, two chairs, a small computer, and a lamp. "Now, I understand your situation about your squad, my dearest apologies and regards go towards them, but right now we have a more crucial problem." Lucas tensed, fearing that Peterson would take him off duty.

"Sir, my place is on the battle field, now where else. I feel that's the better way to honor my squad" said Lucas.

"Yes I figured you would say that, and you will be back on the field protecting lives, destroying covenant, so on and so forth" replied Peterson. "Bt that's not the case this time, the case is that we cannot fit you with another Spartan-III squad." Lucas raised his eye brow, wondering where Peterson was going.

"Sir, I don't understand, what do you mean there isn't another Spartan-III squad that I can fit into?" asked Lucas.

"The U.N.S.C. fleet is scattered around the universe" continued Peterson. "Most of the Spartan-III's are either dead, or on a mission to big to be pulled back, and just shipping one Spartan to aid another would be a waste of resources and time. Besides, the likely hood of your survival and the success of the mission is slim to none. So, for the time being, you will be fitted with a small squad of ODSTs. You will have rank over them of course. You and the squad will be sent on a mission to recover an important item for the U.N.S.C. It should be a simple mission, perfect for you to get to know the squad."

"So, what would this item be?" asked Lucas, "and ODSTs? They don't like Spartans."

"Well, look at it as, a temporary solution, you get to fight, and O.N.I. gets the item it wants" replied Peterson. "Now, you will meet the squad, and have forty-eight hours to get ready for the drop."

"So, you relocate me, then give me a simple mission that you can handle with marines green as grass? You are something else you know that?" said Lucas.

"That may be, but none the less, every mission has its purpose, do this right, and you may just find yourself someplace you may like" said Peterson, and on that note, Lucas left with Peterson to meet the squad.

Chapter 1

*Chapter 3*
Lucas and Peterson walked into the hanger, five ODST sat by a Pelican.

"Officer on Deck!" yelled one, and they stood to attention.

"At ease. This is your new commander, treat him well and respect, you'll receive your orders on board the [i ]Martyrdom[/i]" said Peterson. One of the ODST's looked at him, Lucas couldn't tell what he was looking for or his facial expression from his visor. The ODST noticed his Spartan Patch.
"What the hell? A Spartan? You've got to be -blam!- me!" scolded the ODST.

"Sir, we don't need a Spartan, we've survived long enough not to get our asses handed to one of these!" responded another.

"Pipe down! This is your new squad mate, and this is how it will go! You will get you asses back in orbit, get your mission, and travel to it, then drop down complete the mission, then get back here. You will obey his commands to, the, letter. Am, I, understood?" barked Peterson. After three seconds of silence, the ODST's then acknowledge. "Good, board that Pelican and get off this rock."

As the ODST's boarded, one of them remarked "hey, this may not be that bad, the covenant will be shooting at him, and we'll have it easy!"

Location: U.N.S.C. Martyrdom
Now that Lucas was in his gear, he really stood out, he already knew the squad well
Rodney, was young, but smart enough to know what to do in battle. Butch was big, big enough to look like a Spartan, at least shoulder wide that is. Vin was cocky, he was s jokester, didn't take things seriously. Bruce, smart and fast, and Alex, was just plain weird, talking about ancient battles, strategy, and many different stories. This was the new Zeta squad, and Lucas wondered, would this really work?

Chapter 4
Lucas watched the view screen, the covenant have attacked Ios, a small colony world with little value. Why here he thought, but was suddenly interrupted by the announcer.

"Zeta squad, you will be launching on the south side of the city, E.T.A. one minute."
Lucas climbed into his drop pod, Vin, smirking said to him

"Just don't puke on the trip down" as his helmet depolarized and climbed into his pod. The doors closed, sealing Lucas in. The hissing of the doors as the pod began to lurch, the timer began to beep, and the pod dropped. Lucas could see the planet unfold beneath his feet, the adrenaline pumping. When his pod entered the atmosphere, the pod began to slow down. Lucas could see the other drop pods hitting land, and engaging the covenant, but unfortunately that did not happen for Lucas. Lucas's pod flew straight and clear, right into the ocean. The pod door cracked, rushing in water. Lucas grabbed his Battle Rifle from the rack and activated the emergency purge. The door flew open and water rushed in. Lucas kicked the pod away from him and kicked furiously. Lucas came out of the water to find his squad finished with the battle.

"There you are! Decided to take a bath while we clean up?" asked Rodney. Lucas ignored him.

"Oh yeah smartass? Think you mopped the place up didn't ya? Then what's that?" scolded Lucas, pointing to the Brute Chieftain charging towards them with a squad of skirmisher wielding needle rifles. The squad opened fired, bullets pinging off the brutes shields. Rodney and Vin fired on the skirmishers, picking them off. When they targeted the chieftain, it was too late, it was already on top of them. Alex, Butch and Bruce dived out of the way, Alex was caught in the brute's hammer. The hammer hit Alex in the head, crushing his head and spinal cord. His head smacked into the ground as blood oozed from his helmet. Lucas rolled behind the massive beast. He pulled out his knife but it was too late. The brute swung his hammer. Lucas ducked, dodging the hammer by inches. Lucas jumped, plunging the knife into its neck. He then dropped and cut the brute's leg. The brute fell and Lucas fired two bursts into it's head.

Chapter 5
One squad member down, five left. So far things didn't look so well.
"Great now what?" asked Rodney.
"We keep moving, solders die, it happens to us. We die so that others can live." Said Lucas.
"How poetic" replied Bruce. The squad moved out, the nav maker pointing north. Lucas took point, Rodney behind him, then Bruce, Vin, and Butch taking the rear. Lucas held up his fist, giving the hold signal. Lucas looked at his motion tracker, about twenty red dots moved. Lucas signaled for Vin and his sniper rifle. He pointed to the top of the building, a perfect spot to flank them. Vin ran for the other building. He then came on the radio, giving him the ready signal. Lucas led the others into the nearby building to open fire on the targets. There was a mixture of Grunts, Jackals, and Elites. Lucas pinged several elites for Vin to take out, orange boxes laminated the elite's chests on his HUD. The first crack from Vin's sniper rifle, and the battle ensued. Lucas, Rodney, Bruce and Butch fired on the covenant, picking them off one by one. Vin fired again, taking down another elite, then again and again. Lucas and Rodney cocked some grenades, and tossed them by the jackals feet. They were consumed in the explosion collapsed dead. Lucas gave the all clear signal. Vin showed up, looking heroic as ever.

"So honey? Missed me?" said Vin.
"Not as much as your attitude" replied Lucas
"Now what?" asked Butch.
"We move out, keep your eye's sharp" said Lucas, and on that note, they marched. It didn't take them long before they reached their target. Before them, was a doorway, with what seemed to have blue graffiti on it.
