Learn to love the sticky grenade. Seriously, I doubt you can survive long without using a ton of them. You ought to be able to stick an elite unaware of your presense at almost any distance.
Burst fire the AR. Mashing the trigger down is inaccrurate and wastes ammo. CQC with blue or red elites is easy, spray them, dodge their melee, give them a whack, spray some more. You ought to be able to take them down easy. The Needler will -blam!- elites. Use it.
An elite without his shield is an easier to hit grunt. Jackal shields will annoy you. Plasma Pistols are everywhere. Use the OC shot. It works for both. Hunters are a joke. Single pistol shot.
Grab a shotgun for combat flood forms. The AR works for the popcorn.
The Warthog with a Marine Gunner will give the enemy fits and is almost unbeatable. The only marines worth a damn are the chaingunner and snipers. All others die way too fast.
Stealth allows you to get around or kill enemies that aren't paying attention. Saves ammo too.
The two hardest sections are 'Flawless Cowboy' on Halo, and 'Belly of the Beast' on T&R.
Flawless cowboy requires you to stay ahead of the dropships. When the doors start to open drop one or two stickies on the ground underneath. This will kill/injure the elites. Needle the survivors and throw a frag at the grunts and jackals. M6D for the survivors. You should be able to greet all but the last dropship this way. The last one is too far out to do this. Try to flank them as they move towards your marines on the big structure.
Belly of the Beast is the hardest of all. Watch your radar! Sniper the elites. Land a sticky outside an opening door. The door will let you know when to throw just before it opens. Save frags for an already open door with lots of jackals/grunts inside.
When things get really bad, grab the Active Camo and then melee enemies in the back or grenade them. Don't fire your weapons. Sniper the hunters in the belly when they appear.
Don't rely too heavily on the Rocket Launcher or the Sniper. It's possible to do without them on any level. Dragging them along on AotCR limits your tactical options.
