I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

I was wondering if you needed the Map packs to get the item because I don't have them. P.S. Are they free?

If you dont play Halo 2 actively you dont deserve it.

  • 04.13.2010 12:09 PM PDT

All the maps are free dude. I just wanna know that how will be able to access the map packs if we have to format our HDDs. Will we have access to the X1 Live Marketplace after X1 games kick the bucket?

IDK if you need the maps, but download them and enjoy for the last time.

Yo Bean, that's kinda grimy. Dude here may have played in the past and forgone on the packs... IDK, just guessing.

its for veteran Halo 2 players. Not people who got it last second just so they can have a special emblem, to brag about as if they were true Halo 2 players.

No Problem, Hurry up and download them. It takes a good 20 to a 1/2 to download so be quick about it to kick some ass while you can!

But dude, check it. I'm a vet player myself. Jammed in big team since launch, but this is a new tag for me. Fresh and hasn't scratched Halo 2 at all with it. Now since i'm using a brand new tag, should I be considered a newbie? Someone who got Halo 2 at the last second just to get this new item?

IDK, if someone gets it, then whatever. I'ma prolly make a different emblem anyways. XP

Some of us have thousands of Halo 2 matches on old and expired Xbox Live accounts.

As soon as I heard Halo 2 was dying tommorrow, I spent like 1/2 hr looking for my old game. I'll be on there tommorrow, for old times sake.

  • 04.13.2010 3:40 PM PDT

i can understand where bean is coming from, I mean some people will have played their first game of H2 on the 14th and their last game on the 14th, and probably only have one game total. People doing that just to get something special for reach dont deserve it either in my opinion.

It did come off a little stuck up, but I still agree. I do not think he was meaning people that played Halo 2 on different profiles either, you know who you are no matter if it was a different profile you played on or just playing split screen with your friends. He meant noobs who have only played post halo 3 bungie games that want everything they can possibly get for Reach when they dont really deserve it.

People staring threads asking how to get the special item for Reach probably dont care about Halo 2 at all. How many people are playing H2 tomorrow because they are actually going to miss the memories? A lot I know. But there are also those that are going to jump in and play a single game for a pointless addition to a game (reach) that will never measure up to the greatness that was Halo 2 matchmaking. Do those people deserve to be recognized as Halo 2 players? I dont believe so...

A good GunnerDude never stops gunning!
A good DriverDude never stops driving!
A good PassangerDude never stops...... passangering?!?!?!?!?!?

I have over 5000 games logged on the game and I just got back on for the first time since the Halo 3 launched today. Man Im gonna miss this game so bad. So many memories playing this game over and over without end. A month straight working on 2 player legendary (I still consider finishing that my greatest achievement.)

Personnally I look at it this way, if the bungie team is making one last ditch effort to bring the community back to a game we all know and love and maybe even spark the interest of a few new members who will get to experience the game online in its full glory and see what they missed out on.

Who cares if they get an emblem that just says I got on because they either have the game or spent money on it because it was worth the money for a special item (hey people pay for the craziest things but what can ya do.)

Let them have the item if they want it. This is all about bringing the community back to one of the greatest games I've ever played whether they play one game for an item or stay on for 24 hours plus.

Its a game that everyone should enjoy, regardless of the incentive.

We should be building and paying homage to the community, not bashing people who will only log one game for an item.

Keep it real people, enjoy the game for what it will always be, and thats a staple in the halo community that will never die.

GunnerDude Never Stops Gunning (This could be a problem in Reach with overheating machine guns.... I'll make it work though.)

lol you really tried hard to get to that 5000 mark before halo 3 shipped huh? 7 pages of swords against yourself... did it bother you that much that you were 150 games shy of the five grand mark? im not being an -blam!- i just thought it was intersting lol

Yes and yes ps how do I get bungie.net next to my name

  • 04.13.2010 7:06 PM PDT

Although my gamertag may be Blu Soldier, I am not in the military, I just thought the name sounded cool at the time.

I got halo 2 before I got my first got my 360 in 2007. I did not play that much halo 2 then, because our internet was very laggy, and halo 3 came out soon after. But I did play halo 2 back then, and I will most definitely play it tomorrow.

I don't get why so many people are being stuck up here.

I have owned Halo 2 since launch day, but due to not having an internet connection back then I didn't get around to playing it on LIVE (on my own gamertag) until recently.

As such, rather than saying the extra piece of visual flair in Reach (whatever it may be) should be for those who played Halo 2 every waking hour for the past five years or whatever, see it for what it really is, a thank you note to all of those who purchased Halo 2 and have been fortunate enough to play at least one game on-line.

If there were another fair way to give everyone who purchased Halo 2 the thing for Reach then I'm sure Bungie would have found a way to implement it. But on-line, off-line, or campagain player, many of us have been here since launch day, so rather than send Halo 2 out on a negative note with elitism and snobbery, let's all get ourselves on-line and have a blast for the final day.

Spoken like a true noob

I started playing again tonight and WOW this game is terrible, Bungie was right! No wonder they abandoned this game right after Halo 3.

Some people they like get up, and go to work and stuff, right? But that's not very stressful right, they just go to a job... Like y'know I gotta get up and make sure, ya'know that I'm still number one, right? - Pure Pwnage

Most of us haven't played Halo 2 in a very long time, doesn't mean it's not deserved. The fact that some1 hangs out on these forums says they deserve it.

Not everyone has time to play Games everyday of every year.

Exactly!

I myself, though, have played more Halo 2 games than Halo 3 games. Does this make me a "veteran" Halo 2 player? I might not have played very often very recently, but I did still go back and enjoy the goodness that was Halo 2 from time to time.

My point is, going by some of the definitions on this page, that I deserve the Emblem or whatever special thing it is. I bought the game on the release date, it was my first XBox LIVE game, and it will be my last original XBox game to play on LIVE. I am entitle to the special decal or whatever, according to the definitions on this thread.

This doesn't mean I'll get it, though. In fact, I doubt I will.

I'm just playing Halo 2 one last time before the experience is lost forever. And I'm going to enjoy it not for any reward, but because it is a fun game.

I was wondering about that too. This account was linked to my H2 a long time ago and for some reason it doesn't say bungie.net
