Subject: The End.

Halo 2 is going offline, tomorrow for good. This is truely the end of the Original Xbox Era. The number 1 game that I played, and the game that started it all was Halo 2, for me. Halo 2 was the game I played every Weekend after school, early in the morning on weekends, whenever I could play that game I would.

Tomorrow it all comes to an end, Halo 2 along with many other A-List Original Xbox (such as Jedi Academy) go offline forever. I am looking forward to Reach but Halo 2 will be missed forever.

Bungie is rewarding players that stay til the end however it isnt fair to people who haved played 2000+ games such as myself, when people can just borrow or rent the game just so the can get an emblem undeservingly.

This post is my tibute to Halo 2, it had a good run.

RIP Halo 2

I dont thats fare to say... i played Halo 2 ALOT on my old profile but, i have played almost none on my new gamertag, if bungie said only people who have played 2000+ they would screw over a lot of people who have stayed with the game to the end, yes maybe a few people will play the game for the first time tomorrow but at least the hardcore players will have the gratification of knowing they have earned there emblem.

Ummm... I call bull-blam!- on 2000+ games thing. I mean it is a bit grimy if you just borrow the game at the last second just for an aesthetic item... but how can you judge who gets the item based on the amount of games played. If someone lost their gamertag, someone who's tag is shared in the family, etc... they played the game in the past. I mean i've played for months on end of this game, but under my bro's gamertag! I have my own tag now, but it has no games under it's belt.

There's really no way to determine stuff like that. I mean Halo 2 Big Team Battle is unmatched my no other!!! Not even Modern Warfare 2's Ground War can beat this at all!!! Halo 2 will be missed on live.

A moment of silence for our fallen comrade...

Why not stop by my File Share while you're here?

~Long Live Halo 2
Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

I have only played Halo 2 online for a short time, but I've played many offline games at freinds houses, and in the campaign. So, it doesn't mean I'll miss this game any less than you. I'll always remember the summer of '05 when I played my first game of it at a friends house, and my love for the Xbox, Bungie, and the Halo franchise grew from there.

5500+ games for me.

I'm not too fussed; as long as people get to experience Halo 2, I'm fine with it. Although there will be those who will get Halo 2 from the bargain bin for the sole purpose of getting this new "visual flair" for Reach, rather than enjoying the game.

Lol, I was like "only 2000+"? I agree, but look at it this way; even if kids rent or buy only for tomorrow we still get to share a great throwback experience with them and it will make for an even greater nostalgic time while we pwn kids who keep saying "wft how did he melee me so fast"?!

You better get it together, Marine or the Chief'll reach down and pull you inside out by your -blameable-. And that'll be a sweet, sweet mercy. . . compared to what I'm gonna do to you.

I only had a few month run on Halo 2 matchmaking, but the 1200 games I played were filled with hilarity and greatness. This game will be missed.

I have played so many games...from my first to my 3rd account..all i used to play was Halo 2. I have had many friend that had come and gone, and so many fun moments.

http://www.bungie.net/stats/PlayerStatsHalo2.aspx?player=Spoo linaround&sg=2

that's round 8200 game. Second has over 1000 something.

The end of this great game, it makes me hope that reach can help the grief of losing such a fun game.

You know there is a quote button, don't you?

And it's fair. I've played Halo 2 since launch, and I didn't get Live till I got my 360. I played hundreds of games with my buddies after school on split screen, and we had lots of fun. Just because someone never played the game on Live doesn't mean that they don't get the emblem.

I agreed up until this point.

I was only ten or so back in the Halo 2 era- I could get Xbox Live with 3-month cards, but I didn't have the means to pay my own way through. So, I played a ton of campaign and offline multiplayer. I haven't got a fifteen page pedigree of games played, but I've been here since the beginning and I'm damn well gonna be here when it ends.

At this point, it doesn't matter if the folks playing Halo 2 are grizzled ancients or baby-faced newcomers. It doesn't matter if they're here for nostalgia, here to prove themselves, or just here for the chance to get some Bungie swag.

We all got on this boat for different reasons, but we all go to the same place. Stop worrying about how "lesser" individuals with less Halo 2 experience on their hands are getting the same virtual goodies as you and worry about milking Halo 2 and XBL Classic for all it's worth.
