Hey, I bought an Nvidia Maddog 5200 Geforce 128mb video card, and the graphics for Halo are outstanding. Although when I start to face enemies, the framerate becomes laggy and the sound differs from the visuals I'm seeing on the screen (ex: reloading) Please help. I have 256 RAM on my computer. I don thtink that is the problem because i also have a really bad computer downstairs that has 256 RAM and a worser video card, and it works fine. I have a celeron processor too. Please tell me how to fix it.

Thanks

First problem is the RAM, you want at least 512 to perform well. What is your processor? you want at least 1.2Mhz or higher there. If it looks beautiful you probably have the video settings jammed up as high as they will go. Drop them back to low to middle settings to take some of the strain off. It won't look as pretty but it will perform better. I'd rather kill an ugly MC then get killed by a pretty one. Also you may want to add to switch -use11 to the end of your command prompt. This forces Halo to use an older Shader version which your card may support better.

Edit: I missed the part about the Celeron, excuse me.

*goes around corner and sounds of vomiting are heard*

Celerons suck. If all you want to do is surf the internet use Word and check e-mail Celerons work. If you trying play games like Halo it doesn't work. It like trying to put 5lbs of crap in a 3lb bag. Your card can probably handle Halo your processor and memory can't.

I have a celeron, it isn't crap. I can play halo just fine. That said, I'm sure that if it was a pentium, it would perform better.

Rumor has it that Celerons are reject or stripped-down pentiums. Either way, they are not the processors for extreme gaming.

Ugh. Celeron. Like somebody said, its excellent for just watching a few movies, maybe a low-end game, surfing the internet, but ask it to do anything else and it won't.

By the by, "Celeron" is a generic name for multiple types of processors, just the same way "Pentium" is the generic name given to multiple processors. Its just that they don't bother to classify it any further, the way they did Pentiums. There are high-end Celerons, which perform no differently from, say, Pentium 4's, and there are low-end Celerons. That explains why Chewy's processor can handle Halo while yours can't.
