I <3 you too Bungie

So I vaguely remember from my H2 days that split screen is vertical rather than horizontal like H3. It aggravates me to no end, and it's really hard to play. Is it possible to make it split horizontally?

I'm playing on an elite 360. Someone suggested signing in a player 2 and a player 3 controller, then only actually signing the player 2 one into a guest xbl account. That didn't work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Switch your display settings in the system blade to Normal instead of Widescreen. If you're playing on a Widescreen TV it will either stretch it or keep it native (normal) so it won't look as good but you will get a horizontal split!

that advice usually does not work for me on my widescreen monitor (vga input)

So if that's the case for you, you must again go into display settings and turn the resolution to the LOWEST POSSIBLE (640x480??). Sucks, I know, but then you split horizontal.

See ya online!

you cannot compare Halo 3 to Reach, Reach is not a game, its a disc in a plastic green case called pure fail.

Got it? good.

yeah I play on VGA and in widescreen, everything is stretched but w/e, I've gotten used to it now. Its funny seeing such a wide oval shaped reticule for the BR

So with my 32" widescreen 1080p tv I have to put the resolution at the lowest possible and then it will just automatically split horizontally? I think I'll try the possibility of changing widescreen settings first.

Halo 2 does have a widescreen setting but the game is native 4:3.
Halo:CE didn't support widescreen at all!

I think you can only change the pixel aspect ratio in normal resolutions (640X480, 800X600 etc.) The game isn't native widescreen anyway so it's not a big issue. Plus if your TV has a decent upscaler it won't make a massive difference what resolution you use.
