So long Halo 2. You were the first Xbox Live game I experienced. You are the sole reason I know how to trash talk, teabag, BxR, and destroy kids on Halo 3. May your legacy continue.

Dear Halo 2,

I'm saddened that you will have to go like this. I've spent countless nights staying up late playing big team battle with my friends. I still remember I got out of school early just to play halo 2 the day it came out. It will be a lot less brighter in the world with Halo 2 live gone. I will miss the countless memories I've spent with you...rest in peace.

" Listen, I don't mean to be a sore loser, but when it's done, if I'm dead, kill him."

I bought Halo 2 the day it came out with an Xbox. I had played the first with my cousin severla times, beat the campaign. I donned the mic. The mic where I met friends who I stay in touch with to this day! Halo 2 was somethign special. Every Friday night "Alright guys, it's Halo night!" When I had to get another account for my 360, Halo 2 seemed forgotten behind the exceptional new games coming in. Though in the back of my mind, Halo 2 was always my all-time favorite (That was until Borderlands came along but that's another story.) Today, on Original Xbox Live's final day, I played Halo 2 for about an hour, myself consumned by a social life and other duties, and I remembered the fun I had on the game years ago, and how that was all gone for the most part. I still play video games. And without getting to corny, I will miss Halo 2, despite the little play time it's held for me for the past few years. All I can say is, memories were made (My friends and I played custom games for HOURS on some days!), friends were made, and good times were had. Halo 2, Bungie, all I can say is, Reach better be good!

To Halo 2:

Though I never had the opportunity to play your exquisite multiplayer online. As I have judged through many a multiplayer video and my own experiences, I can say you have been the best game I have played while here on Earth. By campaign alone, I deem you worthy of my eternal love and respect because you have introduced to me a magnificent franchise, many fond memories, and a couple of new friends. Thank you, Halo 2! My prayers go out to you so that you may enjoy your afterlife dwelling--a place only for the best, and most influential video games. Thank you and Good bye, Halo 2.

Your logic is flawed and your opinion is wrong!

Thanks for teaching me that glitches aren't necessarily a bad thing, Halo 2.

Wow where do I start. It's the game that got me into online shooters and I'm sure brought millions of others into it as well. It's a part and a stand out in a series that kept the XBOX alive and gave it some competition for the dominating PS2. It's a game that I used to play splitscreen WHENEVER I COULD. I remember sneaking this game to summercamp whenI was 11 and when the people that worked there came we told them it was Star Wars becasue we weren't allowed to play M games at that camp. HAHAH......I remember BBQs when me and my friends would take breaks playing sports to find out who will be King Of Halo for the day and how my dad killed me bad then I got good and never lost again. It was nice to be able to easily find matches one more time(especially in Team Snipers). I play all these new shooters Gears 2, Halo3, COD MW 2 mostly but honestly playing Halo 2 online today even with the HUGE graphic disadvantage was just as fun as far as gameplay and balancing as any of those shooters I like. And another thing say what you want Halo 2 has better map design than any other shooter I have played to this day. I have had sooooo many amazing, funny, and entertaining moments with this game that it's crazy. I would keep playing this game weekly if it stayed online and I could find matches. I really hope this comes out on XBLA willing to pay 60 for it if it has a really good matchmaking system.
R.I.P.

THANK YOU BUNGIE FOR THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!!

Peace, bro. You were the best of them all. And I'll played the -blam!- out of all of 'em. You introduced me to video games, and I will never forget those first memories of Backwash and getting my ass senselessly kicked. You'll always be with me. So long my friend.

Everything will be gone long before me. When the first living thing was born, I was here, waiting. When the last living thing dies, my job is finished. I'll put the chairs on the tables, turn out the lights and lock the universe behind me when I leave.

Halo 2,

You brought me so many memories, both good and bad. I still remember that first Halo 2 LAN at a soon-to-be friend's house, and everything changed from then on. That group of friends would become my best friends, and have been ever since then. You also introduced me to online gaming, where I learned so much. Because of you, I also came to this site, looking for pictures of the upcoming Halo 2 game and staying here because of the community.

I remember the very first online game I played of Halo 2 (Lockout, FFA Slayer)
I remember the many sleepless nights staying up playing Halo 2 LANs during the summer
I remember the countless arguments I'd get in with my friends over screen-peeking
I remember the map packs which were amazing
I remember becoming gradually worse while my friends became gradually better
I remember the countless custom games that were spent exploring and glitching
I remember starting to hate Halo 2 because of the glitches, blue screen of death, etc. etc.

Halo 2, you were awesome. Without you, I honestly don't know what my life would've been like.

<3 I'm gonna miss you.

  • 04.14.2010 6:46 PM PDT

Thank you Halo 2, for introducing me to Online gaming, for making some good friends, for all the fun glitches, for all the awesome lols, for (sadly) never getting attacked by the ghost of Lockout, for all the hilarious times we got a group of 16 people to believe the demon door on Coagulation is real and being there to watch them all try, for teaching me how to spell Coagulation, and... well there is just so much I cant think of whats most important to put.

So i'll end by saying: R.I.P Halo 2 XBL multiplayer, I will always miss you and I will continue to kick ass on your campaign, also I promise if i ever get Windows Vista or 7 or whatever that your Younger twin will be the first thing I install. Also I apologize for not bieing able to play you one last time with everyone today but of all times my 360 gets the Red Ring of death, im sorry but I hope all my friends are online right now enjoying themselves. Give them a good time this once more and again, R.I.P and thanks for everything :)
