i have one thing to say, thanx for introducin' me to the way online gaming should be. hopefully your newest incarnation can carry the flame across the stree to the grocery store. one night will be ingrained in memory forever...TINY SCREENS!!! yep so you will be missed, online anyway fore the campaign is still accesible without being online so I can still play offline so im happy for that, and hopefully in the near future i can still play offline. thanx bungie for a great intro to online gaming!!!

Halo 2,

What can i say it was an awesome 5 1/2 years. I still remember waiting in line at midnight at the local Gamestop. I will miss the awesome hit scan BR and the wonderful BXR. The wonderful but tedious hidden easter eggs like the Scarab Gun, the skulls that you can find only on legendary that gave master chief cloaking abilities and made it when you shot a grunt in the head they exploded (the original grunt birthday skull for those people that don't know). You will be missed very much.

It's "Gashnor", not "Gashner", there's an O in there.

I wrote a poem in a different thread, figured I'd share:

Thank you Bungie
For giving Halo 3
And even the underrated
O.D.S.T.

Yet the most fun of all
of the games in the three
Was Halo 2
And we salute thee

BxR, superbounce
Glitches they are
Yet the game pushed on
With it's massive BR

The end is here
For once and for all
We live out glory days
Playing Oddball

A generation
Now swept away
The original Xbox
Caught up in the fray

Halo: Reach approaches
Bringing back classic feel
Never matching Halo 2
And it's royalty kneel

Dominating XBL
For 5 years straight
Finally retired
We close it's gate

So let's salute
The king of Xbox
Send Halo 2 off
As a game that rocks!

It was written in about 5 minutes, it's not perfect, but I like it.

The Halo 3 Martyrdom

The news of Halo 2 was the only reason I bought an Xbox over a Playstation. Quite possibly one of the greatest online games out there, and certainly one of my favourites. The amount of hours me and my friends spent on the campaign or in multiplayer seems almost insane.

Goodbye, Halo 2. You will be missed.

Halo...you gave me my first fps experience which has made me a halo, cod, and half life fan to this day. You gave the company Roosterteeth Red vs. Blue to entertain the masses with your beautiful game. You gave Microsoft their game system's success. But, you gave me a great time with real life friends and even random people on the internet. Your legacy will continue and will be remembered old friend...-Amac

Now we must welcome a new era of trash talk and boosters, glitchers and jerkoffs. But also an era that will make us think, "good times" and make us remember the great things halo has created or helped create, like red vs blue, BXR, the scarab gun, and the br. Hump Day. Too many to name, but we cannot forget that grifball. Think in about three years we may be here again mourning the loss of halo 3. You cannot truly appreciate something until its gone.

Thank you Halo 2 for:
-My first and best online multiplayer experience
-All of the countless all-nighters
-Custom games: Tower of Power, Cat and Mouse, Zombies...just to name a few
....

The list can go on and on, but I think that I should really thank Halo 2 for revolutionizing the world of online gaming. This game will truly be missed by the online community of gamers, but I have a feeling the good memories will always live on...

I'll kill you with a pistol.

Halo 2, thanks for the memories. I still remember my first game from 2005. My first online experience: free for all slayer on foundation. I remember progressing from being a noob to getting killing sprees with the sniper. I remember original zombies, tower of power, cat and mouse, and hide and seek. I remember getting my first online friends and joining my first clan, H2O something. I remember my first killimanjaro, vehicle battles on Coagulation, learning how to crouch jump, and learning how to superbounce on Lockout. I remember discovering ImSuck and Roosterteeth: early machinima before Arby and the Cheif. I remember the modded maps and funny glitches and the imfamous ghost of Lockout. But most importantly, I will never forget any of these memories as I move on, into the future of gaming.

Well i wanted to make one last post before i get off. Goodbye halo 2. I will remember this as a happy and sad day. I know that because of you i found out about halo and in turn this community in 2008. You showed me the best online community around. Even though i barely played online until this year, we had a good run together with offline multiplayer and campaign. You revolutionized online gaming and set the standards for modern gaming. You started a generation and it will end with you.

Thank you for the greatest years of my life.

Thank you Halo 2 for all the countless hours of fun. I will never forget the first time I saw a man fly up in the air on Zanzibar and I was just like "Holy -blam!- did anyone else see that?" Aw good times.

Commander Keyes : "Catchy. Any idea what it means?"

Sergeant Johnson : "Dear Humanity...we regret being alien bastards. We regret coming to Earth."

Sergeant Johnson: "And we most definitely regret that the Corps just blew up our raggedy-ass fleet!"

Pilots: "Oo-rah!"

Cortana : "Regret is a name, Sergeant. The name of one of the Covenant's religious leaders. A Prophet. He's on that carrier, and he's calling for help."

He'd have instantly stopped and knelt down, one fist on the ground, hoping to be impervious to the officer's attacks. When this would have failed and he's in the back of the police car, he'd blame his predicament on his friends for not being team players.
