"You know our motto: We Deliver."

Thanks you for teaching me the joy of online gaming and custom games.

Halo 2 was my first FPS game, damn I'll miss it. I'll never forget my first games on Construct or all those times on Coagulation. Coag has to be my favoritism map from any game, ever. I never had Live on my original Xbox, but when I bought my 360 in preparation for Halo 3 I was on Halo 2 all the time. It brought me into online gaming today.

Thanks Halo 2, let everyone know how you made Xbox Live how it is today.

This thread is much stranger and more awkward than any of my many films.

Thank you for the epic introduction to the magic of Big Team games, and may you live on in the loving memories of those who played you over the years.

And I hope everyone who can gets on tonight, as I have the misfortune of having to study for a test at 8:30 tomorrow, and was unable to join in the Final Chapter of Halo 2. At least I got in a nogalistic run of the campaign last week.

Congratulations to whomever gets epic things in Reach for participating, I'll be sure to hunt you mercilessly in a jealous nerd rage for having time to play when I didn't when Reach drops in for Beta and Beyond.

I'll end it here, because someone's calling from International Country Code 86, AKA China. Something about Drywall apparently.

EDIT: I actually did get on about an hour after posting this. After playing to 0100 PST, I decided to let it die during the night... and then played for 4 more hours today and I'm done. I'll just count the hours over that the live team takes to shut it down. At the time of this edit they are 0 hour +16:10:45

For everything we will never forget, and the fight will never end.

Farewell Halo 2

Thanks for being my first "real" video game in my mind which I invested more time than ever before in. I learned so much from you. Even one of your gruffy veterans showed my how to do BXR on Lockout. I haven't forgotten that moment and I never will. Thanks for all the good times and all those user created modded game modes and maps. You took the abuse but still ran strong.

I made many friends and fought many battles. But now, three years later, after all those friendships have disappeared and all the battles have been won, I can say that I am sorry I never spent more time with you in your remaining days.

Thanks, Halo 2. This isn't goodbye. It's just a see you later. <3 Halo 2.

so long halo 2. truly one of the most funnest and memorable games ever. long nights with friends, glitching for hours, tricking noobs about the golden warthog. ahhh nothing can beat this.... :*)

Thank you Halo 2, for giving me my great friends Quagga, Jigsaw and Corinne, for introducing me to TSL, for giving me something fun every day during the worst years of my life. Thank you, Halo 2, for the 20007 kills I got, every one of them exhilarating. Thank you for the Kilimanjaros, thank you for the usable Sword. Thank you for making Xbox Live so great (as one player in a game I played tonight put it, "without this game we'd be on PSN... and that's a fate worse than death.") Thank you for giving me all the good memories over the years. Thank you for the last-second flag runs in the Warthog, the Battle Rifle, and Lockout. Thank you for the custom game glitching.

And thank you most of all for the tears, the regret of it going away. It will not die forgotten and unloved years down the road. It will go cherished and remembered by all who ever armed the bomb in overtime, by all who held a hill with only their dual-wielded SMGs and their guts. Thank you for giving us the best multiplayer madness I have ever experienced.

And you're welcome for the 2500 hours of my life.

Four years and 362 days after I started playing, I stopped. I won my first game, and my last. And I'm happy. I really am.

Halo 2,

As I mourn your loss, I also celebrate your victories. You introduced me to online play and a wonderful community. Many memories I hold in my heart for you. Some bad, but mostly good. The superboucing and button combos hurt me deeply, as well as your rank resets. But you gave me four wonderful map packs, with 11 new total maps. You made Xbox Live the pinnacle of what it should always have been. You gave me medals, headaches, joy, peace, and friendships, but even if all those things are forgotten, my memories of you will remain in me.
