Thank you Halo 2 - the first game that turned me into a gamer. Thank you for making me good at killing my friends on split screen games. Thank you for making my spare time when I was bored, fun again. Thank you halo 2 for making this an important part of my childhood.

R.I.P Halo 2... You'll always be my first and best original xbox game...

Unofficial Thread Killer/Combo-breaker.

Halo 2, not only were you my first Halo game I became acquainted with, you were the first Xbox Game I ever played. Jumping on the bandwagon early in '05 at my friend's house, I had to learn, through brutality, how to win. My first FFA victory among friends coming months after starting and being Sniped, Needled, Rocketed, stuck, Banshee'd, Four-Shotted, etc. too many times to count, I will admit that at first I was not your biggest fan; as a matter of fact, you frustrated me at times. But then I learned your ways. I learned to stick, I learned to Rocket, and gradually evolved to shotgunning, BRing, Sniping, Piloting, and whatever else.

When I finally got an Xbox 360 for my 16th Birthday in '06, my parents bought me a few games, including Call of Duty 2, but not you, so my first trip was to Best Buy, to buy you and play you. No CoD for this guy, I had already been Bungie brain-washed. I played your campaign over and over in the year and a half before I got LIVE, never tiring of it. After being dumped by my girlfriend in the summer of '07, you were there for me, as I gunned down my younger brother over and over, going 100-7, and you relieved my stress. When your younger sibling was about to be born, I revisted your older brother and yourself to get the story down, eager to finish the fight. Although from there we didn't hang out as much, you always held a special place in my heart. Last night's final one-night-LIVE stand was perfect, playing numerous games, slaughtering hundreds, and being tea-bagged by few. It may have never worked perfectly between us over LIVE, as I never perfected all of your secrets (BXRing and Superbouncing), you will be missed by me dearly. Although we'll meet again offline, some things will just never be the same.

Love and miss you already Halo 2!

Goodbye childhood. We played this in college years ago, cables running across our flat yelling at each other from everyones bedroom.

Goodbye the better version of SWAT. SWAT on Halo3 just is not the same.

Goodbye circle strafing since duel-weilding is just not used in H3.

Goodbye Plasma pistols on Waterworks.

Just played Gulch Wars on Blood Gulch (not Coagulation, what am I on about :P), I was on the turret of a Warthog, and a friend was driving. We were red team. Suddenly, a guy from blue team jumped into the passenger seat. After a little fuss trying to kill each other, we drove around the map, red and blue, shooting everyone but each other, pissing ourselves laughing. Sums up Halo 2 multiplayer perfectly for me.

Thank you, Halo 2.

Love you Halo 2, don't go without a fight!

And don't rest in peace. Rest while still kicking ass.

  • 04.15.2010 11:41 AM PDT

I laugh at your pitifall attempts to defeat me!

Though I only played it for 2 days (online) they were a great couple of days. I only wish I could've had more time.

May you RIP.

"I said I never had much use for one....never said I didn't know how to use it."

Halo 2 is falling into to the endless abyss like many other games.

It falls deeper and deeper with every year.

But it shall remain a shining light in the never ending abyss, waiting to be found again.

It has a rendezvous with death.

R.I.P Halo 2.

Thanks Halo 2,
You were a great friend, always there when i was bored.
I learned so much from you.
You open my world to many new people.
I will never forget how you changed the way games were played.
I will never forget how fun playing "Glitches" was.
I will never forget the first XBL game i ever played.
Even though your predicesors could never accomplish what you did, you will live on through their memories.
I Will always remember all those Lan parties I would have.
no other game will ever be like you were.
No other game will ever have any thing as close to as fun as your customs.
Thank You Halo 2 for all the memories you brought back Last night. You will not be forgotten

Halo 2 on XBox LIVE: I feel as if I never got to know you well enough, but having seen the effect you have on those who loved you, I mourn your passing.

However, that isn't going to stop me from doing a co-op playthrough of the campagain next week, or stop many others from playing you via such programs as XLink or XBConnect. If there is a will then there is a way, and people will find a way to keep playing online.

Having said that, those last games I played this morning were possibly the best I have had the oppertunity to play on Halo. Everyone was there just for fun, there were no screaming kids, no nastyness, just people wanting a good time.
