What the? Everytime I try to play Halo 2 this pops up instead of the game starting. Am I doing something wrong? I'd really like to get in a few final games!

(Bungie > 343i)

A lot of people are experiencing similar problems; keep on trying.

I've also been having this problem. I have no idea what the issue is.

Try clearing the cache and redownload the patches.

Iron Curtain

I once fell down an escalator. It was the longest 14 hours of my life.

I could be wrong about this, but I think that's a message that pops up when you try to play an xbox 1 game on an unofficial HDD. Most unofficial HHDs don't have the backwards compatibility software on them. Can you play any other backwards compatible games on it?

Ah, this must be the problem.

I purchased an HDD off of eBay, figuring I was just getting a good deal but looks like somebody has pulled a fast one on me. I just booted up the game no problem on all 3 of my roommates' 360s and downloaded all of the content.

Is there any way to get around this? Would installing the update from the xbox.com support website work?

Nope. You need a offical Xbox360 HDD.
And I'm pretty sure you can't update it (Backwards compatibility anyways) via usb from xbox.com
