The end of an era.
Many people are probably approaching their final games of Halo 2 right now - here in the UK it's nearly midnight, so I expect that many people have had their fill for the day and are off to bed.
Before I go though, i'd just like to mention how bloody amazing Halo 2 has been through the years - nearly 6 years going and it's still heaps of fun to play - few games can attest to that. Halo 2 is simply a classic; it defined an entire generation of online gaming and beyond - its influences being felt even in the seventh generation of consoles.
So now Halo 2 is over, its campaign will live on but its multiplayer, for the most part, is no more. It's unlikely i'll ever play another game of Halo 2 with 16 players ever again. I have the PC version of the game sure, but it's not the same.
Anywho, i'm going off on a tangent. The whole point of this thread was to link to the very last game of Halo 2 you played online ever. Did you go out with a bang, or a whimper?
Me? My last ever game of Halo 2 was very fitting. I played a game of Fiesta on Lockout with some of my friends - one of whom introduced me to Xbox Live and is the reason I ever played Halo 2 online at all.
The last matchmaking game I ever played was Team Slayer on Warlock, not ideal, I know. But everyone in that game (even the enemy team) were people who I knew, so I had some good times.
The end of Halo 2 was a bit sad, really. The first ever game I played online. It sucks to see it go. Luckily though i've recorded the gameplay of my last 30 games or so, so maybe I can make a "farewell" montage of some sort when I have the time.
