Look at what's happened here today. Here is a game that's more than half a decade old, and we've assembled a handful of the original fanbase for one final night to send it off with a bang. That's something. Let me ask you something--have you seen this done with any other game? No. Just Halo.
That's because Halo is more than a video game to us--it's a series of wins and losses, strengths and weaknesses, ecstatic or furious scenarios.
I recently played the last game of Halo 2 that I'll ever play online--and ended it with a Rampage-game-winning-kill with a Ghost splatter. I couldn't have had a happier ending to this journey, though I must admit to being a late walk-in.
Thank you, Bungie. You've accomplished something in the hearts of all us. We will never forget Halo 2.
