Subject: Its Been a GREAT 5 Years...

its been a great 5 years and i cant believe it is already time for halo 2 to be put away and forever be remembered as one of the greatest multiplayer experiences. It feels like it was just yesterday that i was going over my cousins house every weekend and play non-stop Halo 2 until i got my xbox. Halo 2, what can we remember it by... was it its unique multiplayer experience, or was it the joy i brought to you every time you put the disk in the drive and heard the Halo 2 menu music, knowing what was waiting for you. I don't know, i want all of you to tell me why halo 2 was so special to, i think this would be a great last respects for a legend. All thats left to say is that it was a great run, had lots of memories and now that the halo 2 era has finally come to an end, i can see the future on the horizon, a new era, an era that i believe will truly be one of the greatest games of all time, yes, i speak of Halo Reach. Heres to all those great times we spent playing a game that was truly amazing, and heres to the Halo Reach era. Thank you bungie for one of the greatest experiences of my life.

The search bar is like a DMR.

Anyone can use it effectively if they try.
Smart people do use it effectively.
Idiots don't, then complain about how it doesn't work.
The only problem is that, the DMR is used in Reach, but the search bar isn't used in the Reach forum.

It kinda got me into Halo and FPS's. Which are now my favorite series and my favorite genre.

Sad to let go of LIVE, but my Halo 2 experience will never end.

i got into gaming really because of this and i knew i was hooked way back in 2006 when i had first played h2 matchmaking with my cousin, it was a shame though because it was my favorite game but i didn't get xbox live until 2007 like a month until halo 3 came out, but i still had my share of memories.

It saved me from mario and sonic games. It gave me some of my best times with my best friends. the arguements over screen looking. having some other friends over to play halo 2. then my first online experience which was sadly not too long ago on halo 2. halo 3 just doesn't have that feel even offline or in custom games. RIP halo 2 online. maybe me and my friends can break out the old x box and relive the memories. But most of all i am grateful to halo 2 because it was my first halo game. It showed me a new world. It got me into the franchise. I barely ever played anything else.

Thank you bungie. You guys gave me some of the best years of my life with halo 2. Too bad i couldn't play from the beginning.

one war has ended, another has begun.

well said spartan129, well said. Its true though, Halo 2 has had its effect on everyone , just think about it, what would games be like today if there was no halo 2, what if bungie decided to only have made Halo CE. Games would not be the same, it was a real turning point in gaming history. i think halo 2 has been getting the love it deserves these past few days and will it be forever remembered!

  • 04.14.2010 6:58 PM PDT

The only thing I really would love would be to experience my memories over again. I loved them so. I met great friends that seemed to dissapear at random. Sad.

  • 04.14.2010 7:01 PM PDT

Yes it has been. I'm gonna miss the Halo 2 multiplayer world. I actually got my first 10 friends on my friends list from Halo 2.

too bad it cant have four more days online for my birthday. oh well. too bad i did not play online until this year. This gives me hope for reach. Plus if we didnt have halo two we would be living in a world where we only have mario and sonic games. Oh man thank the lord for halo 2.I will pray for you tonight.

we all knew this day would eventually come, we all knew that nothing lasts forever, not even Halo 2, and some day this will happen again will all beloved games, such as Halo 3 and Call of Duty( i know not all love this game but i happen to enjoy the game). So it just makes me glad that we can all get our feet muddy and get a few more scratches on our already rusted battle armor for one, last, time. I <3 Halo 2 Forever!

Now that i look deeper into your comment, you are right. Mario and Sonic would still be the champs (lol), but of course they are great games and great games like the Mario series and the Sonic series and now the Halo series deserve its respect. I think that a hall of fame for video games should be created and if it does Halo 2 should be the first to be elected into it

I hope they do some halo 2 remakes for multiplayer in reach or a campaign level that gives you that halo 2 feel. I also hope for blood gulch. and lockout. again. but not in a super duper dark setting like blackout.

Man the times me and my friends would go on Acension to play zombies or on Turf to glitch outside of it, or playing "Houses" aka territories, I never beat legendary Tartarus was to strong for me and my friend, The community that made friendships, made relationships, and made the BXR, this is one of the saddest moments to see in gaming. We will all miss you Halo 2 and hope that your 6 years were not in vain.

sucks that i have to go to bed now. But oh well i will have good times on halo 3 and halo 2 offline. but think in three or so years we may be on the halo 3 forums repeating this day. and maybe for reach many years after its release. i will try to keep my four year old disc as a reminder of what halo has brought to my life.

Well i have to go now see ya on the future halo games bros.

If I had a Rocket Launcher...

Shut up and get behind me... Sir!

The cable. I'm going to cut it.

Awesomeness would ensue.

Alas, the fate of all console's online services.

Halo isn't anywhere near my first FPS. That would probably go to this little game called "Marathon". First console FPS was Goldeneye, and then eventually the superior Perfect Dark. So Halo didn't have as much impact on my gaming tastes as it did on most of you.

I'll be honest, however; I didn't own an original Xbox. I owned a Gamecube and a PS2, played Gearbox's port of Halo on PC, and played my cousin's Xbox on the side. Despite the fact that I had played and beaten the two games, the first games I bought after receiving the Xbox 360 a few days prior to launch from the Every Ten Minutes contest were Perfect Dark Zero, and the special box set of Halo 1, Halo 2, and the Multiplayer Map Pack for Halo 2. Being my favorite of the bunch, Halo 1 got the first playthrough, although Halo 2 certainly wasn't neglected.

I have my misgivings about Halo 2, but it's been a damn fun ride. Thank you, Bungie.

I think it'll be at least 8 or so years maybe even 10 more years of Halo 3. A new xbox system probably won't even come out for 3 or so years and then it'll probably be another 1-2 years and MS will stop making 360's, then another 2-3 of keeping xbox live up.

Japarican banned for racism on XBL after years of gaming. sense it makes

to original xbox games too lol, i got xbox live the day before halo 2 came out
