Sigs just aren't what they used to be.

I did pretty good on my last game, my team won, and I had the most kills. :D

I have played 37 games of Halo 2 on the night it shall be shut down. No Bungie matches or anything, but it was definitely worth my time. My final game (all were BTB, Customs, or one campaign game [I played the final level- for I tried to finish the fight]) was Team Duals XTRA on Lockout. We won. I had also never played that gametype before. It was a good note to end on for the night.

No, I didn't get to play with Bungie. But I consider myself a winner anyways. I had a good time, and I regret nothing. So my question to you guys is:
Did you end on a good note? What was your final game? With any of my regrets, I feel glad about it overall. What about you?

I'm glad you ended well Burrito - sorry to say i don't think we ever played Halo 2 together.

I ended on a good note, winning CTF on Zanzibar. No Bungie match here, but at least it reminded me of how amazing the E3 2004 demo was. God what an amazing game. I'm pretty upset by this whole thing - knowing that i'll never jump into a warthog on coag with a stranger again, but at least Bungie is still pumping out games.

I seriously doubt any game will effect me like Halo 2 did, but i have a feeling that Bungie will give even this classic a run for it's money in the future.

I ended with Terminal, I have amazing memories of that map. I lost but I don't care.

I considered ending earlier, on an excellent note, but then decided against it. I just had an excellent game, and I'm tired, and have tests tomorrow, so I am done for the night.

No Bungie matches or anything fancy, just some good, old, nostalgic Halo 2.

I wish you all the best of luck in your future endeavors of offline Halo 2, I certainly know this will not stop me from playing it in the future.

Bungie: You done good. Keep it up, old pal. :)

The Halo 3 Martyrdom

My final game was SWAT Magnums, and although I lost, it was still a great game. Two of my team mates quit but I can never leave a good game of SWAT. XD

I don't know how many times I played Flag Wars on Waterworks, but it was surprisingly fun. Never managed to get any friends to play with me either, but that's okay.

It was a great night, and it's good to see Halo 2 go out with a bang at least.

I don't want to join your group.

Same. Went 17-4 on Relic in Team Slayer. Finished the game on a 13-spree. Awesome.

I definitely enjoyed the home stretch tonight!

I wrote a farewell poem for good old Halo 2 as well.

Does anyone even read these?

I drove you into the water, noob. :P

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

The last day of Halo 2 has been a horrible experience for me. Lost almost every game I played. I'll remember this day as one on the most frustrating ever.

Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as metaphors have two parts : form and interpretation; of course, the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom, as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning. Freedom being the briocoleus, the mason.

RIP Halo 2

Yes, I did well on my last game :). Which makes me happy to end on a good note.
(If you're curious)

And thus ends a giant chapter of my life. With beheld tears I slowly turn my xbox off and reflect back on the nerd memories that I will remember for the rest of my life. Although I may have left with an obscure bunch, I left with dignity (being the best in my last game) and with pride.

Till the sorrow's gone, Halo 2 will not be be won, again by the hands of mine.

Long live Halo 2.

I ran into a TON of people who I knew and who knew me. All in all I had a great time. And I'm still playing! Despite never running into Urk.

Spartan V06

GT=PaneInTheGlass

My original plan was to go for 777 kills, but as I realized after noticing a paper was due in my night class that that just wasn't happening. I decided to keep a personal stat-sheet anyway, though.

I played before going to teach some middle-schoolers a lesson for College and ended up on 117 kills just before I had to leave.

I came back after the paper and night class, ready to kick it up again and my first game back was with bs angel (Hawty McBloggy herself) on Headlong. Yes, she's cool and also rocks a hawt mic voice. It was fun playing with that group.

I kept racking up kills until the second game after midnight my time, ending up with 7 kills in the last game, bringing me to a total of 343 kills. While my team didn't win my last game, it was a fun round of Zanzibar, and a great wrap-up of matchmaking for Halo 2.

Buckle Up: It's makes it harder for the Covenant to suck you up.

I ended on a GREAT note. Last game was CTF SWAT on Elongation. Got most kills on my team, most flag caps, and the winning capture. All with the disadvantage of being an Elite.

What a great way to end Halo 2. =)

Final game was Big Team Slayer on Zanzibar. We lost by one, but I got 30 kills. It was a really fun game and I'm glad it was my last. It was really hard for me to turn off my Xbox. All I could think about was the good times I've had with this game.

Thank you so much, Bungie.

  • 04.14.2010 11:16 PM PDT

So apparently it's still up or something? Eh. I could get in a few games... but I won't. As I said, I ended on a good note, and I'm content. I see no reason to risk upsetting that ending.

I'm also glad I'm heading so many different, happy ending (lolwat) stories. Seems like many of you are also a bit content with the night. I am glad.

All it took was a stew of whoopass.

I had to leave in the middle of a Zanzibar 1 bomb game I think. I am sad I wasn't there for most of it, just became a distraction in the warthog for the bomb carrier.

Goodbye buy halo 2 and hello Halo Reach
