Subject: If Halo 2 was ported...Would you re-buy it?

hell yes especially if they included bumper jumper as a control scheme

I made pretty much the exact same thread earlier... http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=42971367&v iewreplies=true

I would spend $20 to play Halo 2 online on my 360, that's just an exact copy of Halo 2. If they would redo the graphics I'd be willing to spend around $35

If they fixed all the glitches including but not limited to Superbouncing, BXB, and BXR, aswell as rehaul the gameplay by getting rid of SMG starts, bringing back the Assault Rifle, and having all weapons reset on a timer like Halo 3, then yes I would rebuy it.

One of the great things that made Halo 2 what it was were the glitches. It wouldn't be the same without them. By the sounds of it, you just want Halo 3 with Halo 2 maps and graphics. They would never bring back the ar! It would ruin Halo 2!

One of the first 20 to beat Halo 3 on Mythic (Solo Legendary All Skulls On), in the later half I'm guessing
I notice time that light has reflection for, like the rainy magic of nobody else on a lovely day.

If they did Halo CE, without hesitation. Halo 3 is fine for me, though. No need for another Halo 2.

"The Halo Box"

Halo: CE
Halo 2
Halo 3

= WIN

Halo 2 was already ported.

It's on Games for Windows.

So?

He probably thinks that the PC version is enough. Not everyone has a PC capable of running games. The xbox is less of a hassle.
I'll second your statement though.

"So??"

A. The PC port is fine, it even has achievements.

B. If your PC can't get at least 30fps on a game that was made in 2004 and ported in 2007, I don't know why you have Vista or Win 7 in the first place.

I'd rather pay for a revamped Halo CE that allows xbox live multiplayer myself...

I can respect that. I love CE as well. But we could never play CE over Live...So nothing's been taken away from us in that respect.

I'd love BOTH to have online play. Options are good.

But now when someone says "I miss (insert Halo 2 thing here)" no one can say "Well...go play Halo 2 then!!"
Same can be said for Halo CE, I suppose

Achievements wouldn't be hard to add, they've got 'em for Marathon for cryin' out loud. But the other two are not really doable, as I understand things. But that doesn't really matter, I'd buy it again if we could get achievements and keep LIVE support.
Yeah, Achievements would definitely be more desired. The others aren't important.
Though I'd buy it even if they didn't have achievements.

We were able to play CE on Xbox Connect, though, so having online play available to everyone on live would be great.

I expect a remake, but I feel like it would be years down the road when Halo CE and Halo 2 are considered old school. I don't think they are quite old enough for that yet.

You CAN keep porting the same game (Street Fighter 2, Pac Man, Doom etc)

Absolutely.

Even if Microsoft has no interest in bringing back Halo 2 for its legacy, it's a sure-fire moneymaker. It will be back.

I would rather have Halo: CE, but I would certainly buy it even at $60.

Exactly.

We need to appeal to their wallets, while they appeal to our nostalgia.

LOL

I like it when things burn...

They should just port H2 Vista, it has everything set up; Live support, achievements, 360 controler enabled and better graphics. All that would be needed is a few tweeks to make it use ALL of the 360s features* and it should be good to go.

*(mainly party chat as games for windows live does not support it.)

Makes sense.

They can use it as a starting point, and work on a few things. Whichever version requires less work, they'll do.

Hell yea i would buy it! Im surprised M$ has even announced anything like that because they should know we would buy it instantly!

I would buy it in a heartbeat, even if nothing was changed at all.

However, Title Update 4 sounded really good. Perhaps they could implement that if they ported it to the 360.

If only XD

But yes...even if it was a simple port and they included no fixes but online play...I'd pay $60 for it right away
