You are one of the ones I was giving the compliment to earlier too - that's why you took me off guard. And no no hard feelings, you are quite well versed in fact. Just be glad I was in a good mood - I get pissy when I'm angry - and you'd likely not be able to tell the difference between me and a screaming Baboon. Loud and obnoxious LOL.

Might I also say that you sound like a very responsible 14 year old Derrick. You indeed have an idea of some of the responsibilities - but there is much much more.

i didnt quite agree with the whole -blam!- is an act of violence thing, its actually a combination of sex and violence

Everything Zen by Bush comes to mind - "There's no se.x in your violence."

-blam!- is an act of aggression - a violent way of putting down somebody, to show control and power through violence.

The earliest definition of -blam!- had nothing to do with se.x in fact. It was "To rob or to pillage"

True, cause you can -blam!- someone of thier sanity, or there ideals, or their feelings.., and it would have nothing to do with sex.

And what is the lesser, mmm? I choose violence, the other one can just mess with their little heads. By the way, I'm not doubting your parenting skills, he is.

That is up to each individual parent to decide - Now as someone attempted to say this earlier I think it needs debunking - Violence - For humans - is NOT natural - not anymore. We live in a civilized world, You can't go down the street punching random people all day and expect to stay out of jail. Why? Because Violence isn't natural. Whenever a poll goes out about the #1 wish in the world, what does it inevitably return to? World Peace. Why? Because Violence isn't natural. Relations of an intimate nature ARE natural - which is why you don't go to jail for being married. That's my stand on it -

A little violence - say a movie or a (*gasp*)videogame are just fine in moderation, So is intimacy (provided it's between people of the same maturity level when they are old enough to make the decision) in moderation. But between the two when they start to escalate- I know which one is less likely to put someone in a belltower.

well the comment about world peace, well im sure bungie doesnt allow me to speak my mind there, so ill just agree its probably true about the polls, but its not my wish. war has been around since creation, and will be here until destruction. and once again i disagree, violence is totally natural, its everywhere in nature. and like i said before, our being too "civilized" for violence is a true state of denial, because no matter how much you say its un-natural, in every humans instinct there lies that attraction to anger and hate and violence, not to actually do violent things and to hate, but to see them, to watch them...I.E., when ever you pass a crash on the freeway do you drive by w/o looking? or do you try to catch that glimpse and see what is going on, that there is a natural mixture of how humans are prone to violence and also of thier natural curiosity.

Yeah, didn't think so. Anyway, you brought back my point from earlier. You must kill something in order to survive.

Yes we are more prone to look at violence than not -- But I am more likely to get pissed at people for staring at the wreck -- If it was me by meself driving (ie no traffic) I'd likely blow right by, unless there wasn't an emergency vehicle. Then I'd stop and contact emergency services.

But I do have a temper streak - so I concede the point that violence is natural to a degree - but when we go about it in unnatural ways it creates the problems for me.

A Bar fight is a lot different than stabbing someone to death..

Even though violence is natural, does that mean that the tendency towards it should be fed? Younger children are more suceptible, beat kids, and they grow up to beat their kids. I don't mean to say that everything with a speck of violence should be burned, but some should be limited.

It is generally the parents fault though, most buy kids games to get em to shut up and get out of their hair, and don't pay enough attention to what they've just given their children.

I'm not by any means encouraging violence, I'm just stating my opinion.
