I just realized something crazy. Unless there's something wrong with this system (I highly doubt it).....

Then I've played more Halo 2 than Halo 3. By....a lot.

Halo 2 games: 2385
Halo 3 games: 1410

That is a BIG difference. I mean...I've played H3 since September 25, 2007. I only started Halo 2 sometime in very early 2006.

So in about one year....2385 games of Halo 2.
Three years of Halo 3.....and a little over half that.

I don't know the significance of this....only that it's somewhat mindblowing in a very strange, sad way.

Correction. You played Halo 2 for 4 years.

Halo 2 matches seem to have a short time limit. Like I had BTB Slayer and we had only got up to 68 kills before the time limit ran out. Also some game modes are quick, like the single flag in the center of the map on WaterWorks, had a game that lasted like no more than 4 minutes.

Nope....I played in from my first game in 2006 until Halo 3 came out in 2007. Then I never played again...until yesterday.

Years don't count if you don't play at all in them.

Well think about it. Halo 2 came out several years ago. It was popular as all get out and was the first Halo game available for XBOX Live. When Halo 3 came out is was facing competition from other games like Modern Warfare. That would certainly take a chunk of your time away from Halo 3, correct? I think it has less to do with how you feel about Halo 3 as compared to Halo 2, and more to do with the extra options you had available to you at the time.

Lifestyle changes play an important factor as well. You get older and more things take precedent in your life. I, myself, have found the same thing as you. I have twice as many H2 games as H3, and nearly four times as many kills. When H2 came out in '04 I was single and was able to devote a lot of time to the game. Now I have a family and there just isn't the same amount of time.

I would be VERY interested to see how your stats rack up in Reach as compared to Halo 3 in the coming years.

Actually, I didn't really play anything else besides Halo. I've played Team Fortress 2 for a few weeks, and Fallout 3 for maybe a month, but in the end, it all comes back to Halo.

Also, I'm kind of young for a "family"....think 10-20 years too young.
