Seeing as Bungie may reward those who participated in the last Halo 2 match recorded, do you feel it is unfair that some people were forcefully booted while others got to continue playing?

What I feel should have been done is a mass disconnect of all online personel. This giving all dedicated players a chance to get the most of this send-off.

Anyway, this is just a topic of discussion and not a complaint because despite being booted, I had a great memorable time playing one of the best games of the last decade.

It is unfair... I also doubt they will reward them, Also I am still on, so I am not biased...

I achieved my Recon armor through the screenshot contest Team Control, not Bungie Day or ODST. 5/29/09
No, Luke! Noo!
64th last player to play Halo 2 online.

I agree. Even though i'm still online I find that unfair due to the kicking of people.

Yeah, I'm well aware of the workings of life and don't need the old lecture on fairness. It's just a topic of simple discussion.

All I'm saying is that their are better ways to carry out certain actions.

The reward thing is a rumour, as in not confirmed, as in hearsay.

Wayne Jarvis, Attorney at Law; I have a responsibility to tell you that there is no candy in this office.

I think Bungie was under the impression (that all of us were) that they'd simply flick a switch and that would be it. In that case, it would've been fair to reward people.

I don't think they intended to watch their baby die this slow, miserable death. Will see what Bungie does.

HOWEVER, whatever Bungie does is just a bonus. You were not supposed to play for the chance at a prize, it was just a treat for being loyal to it for all these years.

Smug Statement: KOTOR is the largest and most active general Sci Fi group on b.net. With weekly contests, events, and in depth discussions, KOTOR makes any Sci-fi fan feel at home.

All we can do is play, guess they want to give it more spice by taking them one at a time...

RIP Halo 2

Anyone playing Halo 2 for the rewards bungie will give them in Reach should get them, because a true Halo 2 fan wouldn't give a damn about those awards.

Can't boot everyone at once. Probly is too hard.
Still, you have the reward. Now it's time to encourage the others

  • 04.15.2010 8:23 PM PDT

so what happens if you try to play?

you cannot compare Halo 3 to Reach, Reach is not a game, its a disc in a plastic green case called pure fail.

Got it? good.

All of us who were here last night were all ready for the abrupt ending at 12:00am . . . I was there and I played even until 9:00am the next day it still didn't end. After that i was too tired to go on, and i would be back on now but alas, I haz been disconnected forevar!!!!

Right but, you are also preventing us loyal fans from playing until the very end. Eliminating the opportunity of some to maximize their playtime.

Reach rewards, as previously stated, are only a simple bonus.

Who doesn't want the honor of being in the last recorded game of Halo 2 XBL. That is a reward in itself.

N7R: Yeah, I even played with you on some occasions. I attempted to converse with you.

There wouldn't be an end if they kept letting people sign in.

Odds are they've just disabled legacy titles from connecting to the service, but once you're authenticated, that's that until you try to get back on.

I doubt they booted anybody. Connection drops happen.

Yeah, connenction drops are always a possibility but, I have never been dropped from Halo 2 in all of 5 years of activity and I'm familiar enough with connection drops that makes me feel otherwise.

True, if they continually let people online it may never end. That is why it would have to be an abrupt disconnect.

From what it appears. It seems that Bungie and the rest of the community expected a more abrubt drop of connection for everyone around 12:00 A.M. PST.

To be honest, I just wanted a little more time with our baby. Halo 2 offered me some of the be gaming moments of my life. I've met some good friends on there as well.

I'm sorry people had beenbooted. I don't know what to thnk cause these guys should still get a shout out from Bungie. I don't care what anyone thinks, Bungie needs to make it known that these guys are fighting to the end. I have mad respect for everyone still fighting and the ones who had the intention but had been booted. I wish I could have played longer but work sucks. I have the upmost respect for you all!!!
