Halo 3 ODST's campaign is a very gripping story that tells the events between Halo 2 and Halo 3. If you ever want something to do because you're taking a break from Halo or whatever game you may play, I highly recommend playing Halo 3 ODST's campaign.

If not, I'm sorry you spent so much money for a map pack and never enjoyed the riveting story of ODST.

Don't listen to this the story is pretty horrendous. It doesn't really tell the events between Halo 2 and 3, just what happens to the city a day after MC goes to Delta Halo. The dialogue is also quite horrible, every ODST is hurt by the horrible dialogue except Romeo. The story practically goes nowhere, its very lackluster.

Few good things are the drop pod scene, and the sky art. The campaign is without doubt the weakest in the series. Though you might as well play through it a couple times. Justify the purchase.

Uhh- what?

That's one of the best things about ODST. It wasn't some huge adventure of "I'm the lone soldier trying to save the universe." It's 'hey- here's some normal soldiers, without a super suit, just trying to survive'. People don't appreciate that. The gloomy atmosphere, the music (which is the best in the series) all aids the 'story' of there being no story.

And ODST gets a +1 for no Flood. Sorry, but after 2, it just got redundant.

I'm 23, I have a house, dog, girlfriend, job and I have no interest in any fanboyism so if you're thinking about sending me a childish PM, don't be surprised when I don't call back.

I'm sorry but I don't know how you felt like you were a regular soldier who was part of a squad.

a). Stamina replaced shields so the gameplay was the same.
b). You spend 90% of the game on your own.

I love Halo and I always have but I will not defend ODST on the merits of blind fanboyism. It was good game yeah but it didn't even rate against the other Halo games. Gameplay was no different, Story was weak, dialogue was hard to take seriously.

That 90% is really up to the player. Some run-throughs were 90, some could be 40.

Shields are always in play, but the health messes with it a bit. You just felt weaker. And your team wasn't disposable as they were in previous games. You relied on them. In previous Halos, the most you had were Arbiter, Sentinels, and Johnson. Marines BARELY did a thing for you. I remember back in Halo: CE days, I'd play a game of trying to get my small group of marines as far into the level as I could because of how much of a joke it was. ODST finally emphasized the fact that yeah, you are a human, remember?

Gameplay was as different as you can make a Halo expansion.

Also- don't get me wrong. I'm not a fanboy. I refused to buy the game for full price. I waited until Gamestop had one of those, trade in 2 and get any new game for $20 sale (good win-win for me getting rid of Darkest of Days and Guitar Hero 5).

ODST probably has the greatest campaign out of all the Halo games and you still haven't played it?

Pfft LOL.
HaloCE > Halo2 > Halo3 > Halo3ODST=HaloWars

opinions, opinions, opinions... We all have them. Just because we have them doesn't make them the overwhelming truth about the games. Let him believe as he wishes. :)

What?

Just leave the thread.

Ya ODST's was the worst in the series.

Couldn't of said it better.

If you hate it so much, why do you hang around the forums?

Besides, it was an expansion.

I never said I hated it.
It's a good game.
But the Campaign is the worst in ther series.
The others are Epic, and this one felt abit flat.
Other than that, it looked great, firefight is awesome, and it made you feel more vulnerable being a human and all.

Soon to be breaking news:

US Coast Guard prepares for massive rescue mission after Iranian fleet sinks off shore. Reports say a small thunderstorm caused most of the ships to simply...fall apart.

Oh wow, and I would expect someone like you to hate the Halo Wars campaign the most.

I bought the ODST game about 6 - 7 months ago and still haven't been interested in playing campaign, Im not joking, i haven't touched it, I only bought it for the new maps :D

OK from what I gather is that this guy is a cracked mental case & here's why.

1. If he was to get into the story, he would see that this is based on as to what happened to REACH.

2. Earth was supposed to have been attacked second followed by Master chief in HALO then HALO 2.

3. Lets also NOT forget in Halo 3, was when the war was finally over and where the chief was still in space far from earth.
---------------------

Now if he can not follow the plot in a way then I say what a waste of money he wasted for just wanting the maps.

ODST has one of the best campaigns of the Halo series.

Even if you don't agree, you realize that you just paid $60 for 3 maps right? When you could just buy those 3 maps for 800 MS points on the Marketplace?

I agree because there is no sense of spending $60 and expect a lot. I say we have this mr show off's blog locked away and/or deleted for good.

ODST campaign is far superior to Halo 3 campaign

  • 04.22.2010 8:20 AM PDT

I enjoyed the Dante's Inferno undertones in the story of the campaign. I didn't like the campaign my first time through, but the second time through (solo on legendary) is a lot of fun. I think all of the levels are really well designed, and I like all of the enemy placements. I think a game like Modern Warfare relies on spawning gimmicks to keep the action going, and I can't help but be reminded of Golden Eye 007 on the N64.

The campaign on legendary forces the player to be resourceful, and there are always opportunities for the player to succeed even if the situation seems too difficult.

They've said it millions of times: ODST was only an expansion, and the Mythic II map pack was a bonus along with Halo 3: Mythic. So, don't make a useless thread about a subject like this.

ODST WAS an expansion. Then it ballooned into something more. So although it isn't the most complete game, it still had more to offer than an expansion pack.

"Much more than an expansion, Halo 3: ODST allows players to explore dangerous new ground, search the dark, abandoned streets of New Mombasa for clues, and fight back against the Covenant invasion from multiple perspectives."

Halo CE's campaign beats ODST's in alot of ways, but I agree that its a step up from Halo 2's and 3's.

Sterotype anyone?
You don't know me lol. Halo Wars is a awesome game.
It annoys me that people bag it out because it's not a FPS and branched off from normal halo gameplay.

Then you clearly don't know the value of a dollar.

*Raises hand and waves violently* Ooh, ooh, ooh, me, me, me!

I'm in economics right now, and I think I actually learned something like this, so I can tell him:

If you purchase something for $60 and the only part of it that you've used becomes available through other means for around $20, you've wasted $40 or 2/3 of your investment. This either means that:

1. When it comes to spending money, this guy's a dumbass or
2. His mommy loves him and buys him things he does not fully appreciate.
