You've got to think crazy, of course, because you only get innovation by refining insanity. - Jason Jones

was wondering if anyone has seen one of the orbiters, not that we will get to do anything with them but id like to see one. And i wonder if we as earthlings decided to launch nukes on the covenant when they started showing up, cuz the general says its the goddamned apocolypse and there are an awful lot of nukes being detonated the way it looks in the announcement. Or maybe the covenant are releasing them nukes, any suggestions?

Are you retarted? The Covies are nuking the planet. Why the h3ll would we nuke ourselves?

the mac's as they are refered to in the books i guess. They are outisde of planets atmosphere's and fire mega amounts of whatever it is that they fire at incoming enemies. And they are defenseless pretty much. Earth has some but are probably destroyed already.

Actually, to my knowledge the Covenant don't make use of nuclear weapons. Perhaps they are targetting nuclear facilities preventing the humans from using the nuclear weapons on the Covenant.

so your saying with as little as the covenant know about us, that they know where and how to release our nukes. Hmm makes no since to me, or do you think there is someone helping them? I dont know im just throwing out ideas, personally i think its the flood, but saying htat will probalbly get me shot. I mean they do adapt to our weapons very quickly and if they infect the right people then they might have access to our stuff. i dont know.

Yeah the flood were able to adapt to both human and Covenant weapons suprisingly quickly. But, there is a large difference between picking up a rifle and squeezing the trigger, and initiating a nuclear strike, then launching it.

yea i agree with you there, there is a difference, but who knows, maybe the guilty spark fellow is doing it. He could initiate one i bet. But i dont know why he would want to, i mean he was getting his jollies off taking the information from the poa at the end of halo 2.

I thought the Flood put the memories of what they infected to use, that is how they knew how to use human and Covenant weaponry! So assuming this is the case if they infect a guy who knows how to launch a nuclear strike then they may well be able to!
HOWEVER: If they Nuke us how will they then infect us? As the Nuke's would wipe out huge numbers of humans leaving the Flood with no dinner!

I've never heard of this, doesn't mean your wrong. Where did you hear that the flood gain the abilities of those they infect?

This is true about the flood, that is why i am wondering if it is not guilty spark, i dont see why he would want us destroyed, unless hes in with the covenant but i dont see why he would cuz he didn't seem to like them while we were in the library, he was bad mouthing them. Or maybe he just likes the pretty explosions.

But how would 343 get to earth? Clearly he didn't hitch a ride with the Covenant, so he just happened to be on earth when the Covenant launch a full scale attack? Maybe.

Its just what I assumed, I mean the Combat forms were able to use weapons, and they used Keyes, the Captain of a ship, to try and control the Covenant Cruiser in the level Keyes. I just thought this was more than coincidence!

well he did find the location of earth from the poa in the last level. And he was flying away from the wreckage after the credits, so i dont know, maybe he did hitch a ride with someone. The covenant know where we are going very easily, i know how they knew we were going to end up at the halo, because in one of the books im not sure which one, at the very end of a chapter, there is some big battle between us and them and we end up winning the battle and as one of our ships is limping away, POA, they the covenant send out a little probe that sticks to the hull of our ship and it says, that it was beginning to tranmit location information back to the covenant. Those are not hte exact words but it is pretty much the same thing. so maybe guilty spark was able to do this in some way.

Maybe, but I still don't see how 343 just happens to be at the battle of earth. I'd be really suprised if he was involved in any way at the raid on earth by the Covenant.

honestly nothing would suprise me right now. Who knows we might find more flood or a different type of parasite on another ring. But i am beginning to think it might be 343 launching nukes, i just dont see how it could be covenant there not smart enough, unless it is the engineers, and i dont think we would nuke ourselves. And im not sure 343 woulud want to destroy us b/c he sure seems interested in earth and the human race. And im not conviced that flood could activate them.

I think those explosions are just bombs, us bombing the Covenant. But it could be nukes.

They would have to be some big ass bombs, The way they look they seem to be nukes, but im not saying they are for sure. From space, a bomb would have to be huge and not be a nuke to look like that.

Yes thats true. Mabey they evacuated the Earth or something so they could do that, or everyone went into underground bunkers, or theey didn't have any time to evac and had to nuke.

Have any of you considered that we, as humans, may fire nukes at an area on our planet if that area contains a large volume of Covenant? Hmm?

I don't want to hear another retarded theory about 343GS and the Covies. Those explosions on Earth were the 600 or so megaton Hydodgen bombs of 2552 that the Humans have. Aimed at large concentrations of Covenant. Although you shouldn't look into this much, becuase alot of that stuff in the trailer was just for show. Idiots.
