Subject: With all due respect

I'm glad people are still pushing.
But, let's be realistic here.

If Halo 2 was not going to be shut down, none of you would be playing for 24+ hours straight.

So, yes, great job having enough time to stick through it all.
Please, let her go with dignity!

This "contest" has turned into the last person whose Xbox DOESN'T EXPLODE!

I wish I had the time, but I will admit, it's hard to say that when Halo 2 is simply a memory now.
Great run, but it is time to let her go.

It is not for you to decide. Respect those who do fight on and if you're willing to help; Post on the "Tips" thread. Otherwise: Don't dismiss the effort!

This. I have a topic about it, but it's become ridden with idiots who think they're making sense.

People are beginning to care more about who is the last one online, then they care about the game itself.

Why stretch Halo 2 out until they're all tired and bored of it?

Yet again he insults, and yet again he forgets. Sigh.
I agree on the underlined part.

It's not that I am trying to bash anyone.
It is more to the fact that, this is only happening because people want to be the "last ones."

Halo 2 should have received a farewell when those few thousand said goodbye for the intention of the passing of the game.

The wanting to be the last one is overshadowing the games end.

I am not mad, but I feel she needs the respect she deserves.

x.x my 360 been on since last april i doubt she gonna give out now...

  • 04.16.2010 3:41 PM PDT

Someone emailed me to ask how we felt about the few players still hanging on to Halo 2 today - those who will remain active until they are forcibly removed. Easy question. They're awesome.

Goodnight, sweet prince. And thanks for playing, Seventh Column.

that was a post buy urk i believe, so quit the arguing and let the people play.... let them do what they want, even bungie thinks they are doing the right thing obviously... link to mod post http://www.bungie.net/News/content.aspx?type=topnews&cid= 25650

7th Rule of Fight Club: Fights will go on as long as they have to.

  • 04.16.2010 3:43 PM PDT

It's the fact that it'll never be played on XBL ever again. Before this news was announced, we had the luxury of returning to Halo 2 for the simple fact that it'll be there. I know I feel this way, and the fact that one of the top dogs of Xbox Live can be vanquished from the system just like that is awful. I've logged in thousands of games on various gamertags, and I do admit that it has been months since I last played, I wanted to return to the game I loved years ago.

I already read it thank you very much.
I am not arguing anything?
I am simply stating that those who are forcefully still playing to be the "last one" are not giving Halo 2 a 'proper burial.'

To parafrase another great game character (Ashley Williams): "How come that whenever anyone ever say "with all due respect" they really mean kiss my ass?!"

  • 04.16.2010 3:45 PM PDT

i dont see why it even matters that people are trying to be the last one, even if they are they are still playing (most of them). and why are we giving halo 2 personification???

Halo 2 does not want life support!
She doesn't have the ability to live anymore, she wishes the suffering would end.

'proper burial.'

Define "proper burial".

I'd say a proper burial for Halo 2 would be play the hell out of it until it's gone.

So if you were on life support and couldn't flip over to the other side the bed, would you want to continue suffering like that?

totally agree with plasma, but really, we are acting like a "human" has died, the game is not a he nor is it a she, its a disc, just stop giving it personification. yes halo 2 is the best game to hit xbox, and still will be in my heart but i don't see a point of trying to make it seem like the disc is a human. just how i see things

I would like it to be made clear that Halo 2 is not a human, a mind, an AI, or anything that would have any type of consciousness.

Yet you still personify it by not letting it go as if it WERE a human. You have to hold onto it as long as you possibly can.
It seems as if you are acting as if this is the death of a human.

Let Halo 2 go in peace!
Enough bickering.
It's had too long of a run.

I fully agree with the San Fransisco Sixty-Niner (sorry, had to)

The logic of, "playing the hell out of it until it's gone," doesn't work because IT IS GONE. There will be no second apocalypse. It's just there until you leave.

If Microsoft has to individually find everyone and manually kick them off, then all you've done is given them more work and delayed progress.

im making it seem like a person dieing lol seems weird when im not the one saying " I am not mad, but I feel she needs the respect she deserves." "Halo 2 does not want life support!
She doesn't have the ability to live anymore, she wishes the suffering would end." thank you

Thank you for what? All your doing is pricking out an argument.
I am trying to get people to move on. We have all played the hell out of the game as it is. It wishes to move on now.

RIP Halo 2: November 9, 2004-May 10, 2010
I was the 2nd to last person to get kicked off Halo 2, see the thread Here

It's not a contest of who stays on the longest anymore, it's 50+ dedicated players trying to stay on until we're forcibly removed.

Uh I'm a bit of a noob, what's an "Achronos"?

Nintenman7: Apply yourself... Seggi31: HHHHNNNNNNGGGGG

Noble conquest.

Why doesn't MS just merge the servers anyway?

partitions are easy, and MSGS has enough money to do it all.
