I just bought halo 2 (pc) a couple of days ago. As well as the xbox controller for pc. It seems like there is a slow response from the controller to the game. also I can't make it wide screen or else the lag gets even worse.

Is there a way to stop other programs from running?

here are my specs
CPU: AMD Athlon II X2 M300 @ 2.0 ghz
Ram: 3GB DDR2
HDD: 320 GB HDD
Screen: 15.6" 16X9, LED HD 1366X768 LCD screen, high gloss coating

this is info on my video card... I cant make sense of

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 45707 with up to 23048 MB of HyperMemory -512 MB of dedicated DDR2 VRAM, up to 1792 MB of shared system memory-, supporting Unified Video Decoder (UVD), OpenEXR High Dynamic-Range (HDR) technology, Shader Model 4.1, Microsoft DirectX 10.1

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 Graphics9 with up to 19198 MB of HyperMemory (256 MB of dedicated system memory, up to 1663 MB of shared system memory), supporting Unified Video Decoder 2(UVD2), OpenEXR High Dynamic-Range (HDR) technology, Shader Model 4.0, Microsoft DirectX 10.1

Please help me if you have any info that might help!

This may help, it will close unnecessary programs for you...

Your CPU is not powerful enough to run the game "properly".

You have two graphics cards? Lol I have issues with it laggin on my desktop once in a while, but I'm using a ATI HD 3200 Radeon which isn't too powerful. Halo 2 for the PC wasn't really optimized for the PC, anyone on here with a gaming PC will tell you they left out a LOT of options (like VSYNC can't be changed in ingame menus).
