''I am the Shadow of the Samurai. End of your life.'' (Cue mindless hacking with katana)

As soon as Microsoft finds out about this, they're gonna pull the kill switch.

I have a feeling this COULD end for everyone soon. It can't last forever.

They definitely are. The only reason why M$ hasn't pulled the killswitch yet is most likely because they aren't trying to update anything yet, but I'm sure it will happen soon.

Or, you know, it's a Sunday afternoon.

The earliest they're going to do anything would be Monday. Probably in the afternoon. That assumes they even intend to do anything.

... Microsoft already did everything in their power. I'm pretty sure it's all in Bungie's hands now. Bungie is the one who left their servers on. The remaining players are on Bungie's servers now. The in game component of xbox live runs separately from the signing in/ friends/ intergame stuff, thus allowing Bungie to leave their game up effectively till the last man quits.

Well, no, microsoft still has some control. Even though they've shut off the authentication servers for the original XBL, there's still a lot of integration.. I can still see my friends list, see what games people are playing (bot 360 and oxbox) and obviously can still get into matchmaking.

So the systems are still integrated. Microsoft could push out an XBL update at any point that removes all legacy compatibility, which would instantly kick us all offline.
