No one plays the fun gametypes anymore. It's all noobed out.

Like, every game has a heavy weapon as a secondary weapon. and all the CTF games are touch return.

This is what I mean by fun. Yes, that's fun.

Not the hour long multi flag CTF games on Coagulation with light vehicles, Energy Sword as secondary, flag indicator always on type crap.

GET FUN, Halo 2 Vista! Basically, all the built-in gametypes are fun as hell and people need to learn how to customize game variants properly.

I was going to ask you why you don't like touch return flags and realised it was a thread about H2PC. Easy to get mixed up since HPC is plagued by the same gametypes; just replace swords with rockets.

I'll have to give non touch return a try on HPC at some point actually. Touch return is just so suited to the game that I can't imagine it being any other way.

Coming to think of it, I wonder how much fun it'd be to have a gametype where you have to take your own flag back to the base after it's been stolen for extra points.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

I'm a big fan of default game types. They're balanced and promote a fair, fun game that lasts a resonable amount of time. Another I reason I don't try to play H2V much is the only populated games are all on Coagulation with overpowered starting weapons. Also, tanks are too well-armored compared to Halo 1. Your whole team can empty their weapons into a tank with no effect. More than one tank at your base and you have probably lost the game.

I do like the idea of having to manually return the flag! But, H2's default of having to fight over the flag instead of just running over it to return adds more action to the game.

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

This is true, and just reading it makes me feel extremely nostalgic.

HPC actually has an alternative. You can turn off flag returns by players entirely, leaving the return solely up to the timer. Combine that with one-flag assault, and you got yourself an incredibly fun gametype that requires players to defend the flag the opposing team dropped for X amount of time before it returns.

I totally forgot about that. "Flag touch return". Awesome.

Everyone cares about opinions, that's why we socialize on a forum with strangers.

About 90% of servers on Halo PC play non-stop CTF Heavy Weapons on Blood Gulch. A smaller percentage of servers on Halo 2 Vista play the same gametype on District and/or Coagulation.

It's just a PC thing, I suppose. We like our heavy weapons.

75% of all statistics are made up on the spot, as can be exhibited in this post.

i'm afraid both halo games on PC are plagued by -blam!- gametypes, mostly either all heavies, or noobs who don't know how to kill anything without a warthog.
its sad really, as the good gametypes are few and far between

Love you Bungie!
Still playing Halo1 Custom Edition!

Try Halo Custom Edition, you could be surprised by the possibilities HPC doesn't even get close to having. Plus, you can keep your regular maps and benefit increased graphics.

Halo custom edition and Halo 2 vista both are good games. And do not forget halo combat evolved.

Lot of the guys here can't stand Halo 2's gameplay. I like Halo 1 better, but I don't mind Halo 2 for the most part. And I mean the Xbox version. PC version is riddled with bugs. The one thing I prefer about Halo 2 multiplayer on PC (when it even works) is you can actually shoot AT your target instead of leading several miles in front of them.

  • 04.22.2010 6:14 PM PDT

[image]http://i40.tinypic.com/5ugrvk.jpg[/image]

Well you do not need to lead target and shoot them milse, you can do that by only leading them 3 centimeters away from their body.

The only time I had rockets in my rotations was Rockets Slayer to 15 on a small map like Prisoner or Wizard. Pure chaos for a mintue and a half then move on to something else.

Kindly refrain from Frog-Blasting my Ventcore.

I actually haven't had many problems with games on HPC. H2V, though, is an entirely different story. Coagulation 27/7, swords, max vehicles, lame stuff. At least, that was the last time I played. Haven't played in a few months. Reinstalled it too many times, and now it won't let me install at all. Hate... Microsoft...
