..Can you at least re sticky the mafia game? I had to look through 4 pages to find it... of course now that I replied it's on page 1. It's just that it's so active and the players like me need to keep track of it. I don't think it doesn't work that way for the other sticky's, but since you don't want such a clutter... Here's a nickel. :D

The thing I like about it is that we now have more room on the forums for threads.

The thing I don't like is that if I want to find a sticked thread, I have to click on the "Ninja Recommended Threads" to get there.

^_^

its not bad, its only bad for the lazy ones who dont want to move their hand that extra inch to click on it.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Great Idea, but i think the more active one should still be sticktyd.

The active and intelligent ones should stil be given there due respect.

I don't like it. Before, a stickied thread was something that captured your attention. Now, the same threads that would be stickied above the rest are down here in the muck with everything else, subject to thread death and getting knocked off the page by garbage. Plus, people are more likely to read a thread that's first in line, above all the rest. Most people aren't going to bother reading a single locked thread. Take the forum rules threads for example. You can hardly tell if anyone reads them.

I understand. And you are right.

The reduced visibility of the "classic sticky" is the most apparent downside of this.

What I am uncertain of, is if a thread with links can be "high profile" enough to encourage more traffic and visits to the good threads. I am hoping that over the next few days the regulars in the stickied threads can tell me if the threads are getting more or less traffic and participation than they did in the old way.

If they get less, then it's possible that this method actually harms the threads of note. That would be a bad thing in my mind and all the reason I would need to terminate this experiment. If they get equal or more traffic, then it's a good thing and we should consider why it is and how we can improve.

I appreciate your honesty and candor. I hope that I don't appear to be debating. Thank you very much for pointing out your observations and taking the time to help make (or keep) the forums a better place for our fellow members.

Yeah. You've got some very good points. I think the best thing to do is just wait and see if it works or not. Also, I apologize if I came off as hostile in my original post. My intent was not to totally bash the idea, just state my opinion on it.
