Right now, i have a 2 year old PC with nVIDIA a GeForce4 MX 440-SE with a memory of 64MB. I've just upgraded my RAM and bought Halo, so im short on money.

My question is, how do you know (when browsing for a video card online) if a particular one is compatible with my PC?

I went to www.crucial.com/uk and the System Scanner bought back some results for me, it found only 4 compatible ones ranging from 128MB to 256MB by various manufactures. But the 256MB ones didnt cost less than £100...the best one cost over £200.

To me, thats hiliarious considering i dont have any money lol.

Then i checked out a major PC retailer. I just browsed video cards in general and came back with ones e.g. 256MB costing no more than £50.

So can anyone help me identify if e.g. i have a PCI (or PCI Express) or APG or whatever its called. If you have MSN Messenger, contact me on charmer2002650@hotmail.com, and if you have AIM contact me on SynopticEnd.

Thanks!

Oh and another thing, Halo requires 32MB video card RAM (minimum), so wil there be a real difference between a 128MB card and a 256MB?

You need to buy an AGP card for that motherboard.

There is no point in going for a more expensive card just because it has 256mb of memory. Depending on your budget and your psu, a 9800pro is a very good choice.
