10 years with Bungie.
3 years with 343 Industries.

It's time for that all to change, and to take 343 to the top.
Bungie, it's been one hell of a good run with you guys. It's just time to move on. We'll be together again soon.

As I've been watching the last 35 or so players of Halo 2 finish their matches for the night to awake again tomorrow and do it again until the finale, I have sat here and thought "They've got some damn good dedication if they've stuck around this far." They're pretty damn good at being consistent, that's for damn sure.

Anyway, The people who I have met tonight through a stream on Justin.tv have become some of the coolest of people, and I'm glad they're the ones who finish the game off with a bang. I couldn't do it because I am currently in Canada, but if I could have, I would have. No matter what the cost. Being known as one of the last people to play the game online is the best feeling. But, being the winner of the last ever played game online is even better.

For this, I think that they deserve a medal of courage, and pure dedication. They're pretty much legitimate Spartans here, folks. They've held up a game for 6 extra days against an enemy that is coming in the forseeable future. (Kinda reminds you about Reach, doesn't it?) Anyway, they've held up everything against all odds. Their Xboxes have been holding up nicely, and I really believe they can hold out until the end.
The legends have risen, and they won't be forgotten here.

Also, for anyone who says "Go play Halo 2 Vista." I say no, only because it's not the same as playing on the Xbox. Period. All your memories are on the Xbox version, and with barely anyone playing the PC version, it's just pointless.

I freestyle foo.

They should do like a 31 shot salute or a picture. Aha that would be tight!

ok seriously, enough already with the drama. It just sounds really dumb and childish.

I think it's excusable given the circumstances. They've shut down the best video game of all time!

What part of that sounds childish to you, may I ask? :\ And does this really bother you that much?

Tro Me and my friends have a Halo Reach clan going PM me if you want to join

Its a 21 gun salute not a 31 shot salute but its true they should have but what Bungie should really do is make an xbox 360 version of Halo 2 with online co-op champagine and stuff that would be awsome and i wish i could have played Halo 2 to the end but i couldnt any way it sucks that the best Halo game is gone good bye old friend and fairwell SALUTE!!!!....... FIRE!!!! <Repate FIRE!!!! 20 more times and play TAPS>

If you don't have something Constructive to say, then by all means. SHUT UP and GO AWAY. tyvm

I'm a girl, get over it and move on.

Halo 2 Support!
I miss it so....

Gods willing I would have still been in the game... but I was yanked from the menus like young piglet in a slaughter house... It was the most devastating thing ever and being able to watch them through the live stream has been the best thing ever... I haven't once closed the window and I even stopped listening to most of my music to hear them. Even if I cannot play right now, in some form I am still doing it... I am really glad to have the opportunity to at least still watch and you are right, most of the people still playing the game are awesome. I am more then happy to defend them from haters, trolls or anyone else who decides to bash them while they are still on their gaming spree.
Most that are left I believe are on 360s and if they don't have coolers are at the threat of overheating at this point. I do believe I remember one of them saying he had a block of ice on his 360...
I have said several times that they deserve some sort of medal for lasting so long and showing such dedication on levels I apparently cannot provide.
Everyone likes to say Go play halo 2 vista, it's the same. Well in our eyes it's not. There a lot more modifications to halo 2 on the computer and vista/windows 7 is not something I want to upgrade to, then again I don't have money for that right now.
Nothing can replace that feeling of the crappy headset and sweaty hands on a controller. Your room heating up from your own body temperature and the xboxs. The yelling and hooting at each other... the crappy tv screens and horrible couches or chairs we spent countless hours destroying each other in.
Microsoft is taking that away from us few who still remained dedicated to halo 2. Halo 3 just was not the same for us, many people hold high hopes for Reach. As for myself if Reach is not what I desire out of a halo game... I will simply set them all aside...
Halo 2 is the bases of what we all want... It's simple and fast passed. Everything within the game even the glitches and weird parts we grew to love, nothing seemed out of place and nothing felt wrong. This should be the basses of the next games...
It's just how I feel. But it doesn't matter, for now I will simply remain a dedicated viewer of the few left and the only live streaming video of halo 2.

If anyone of these people gets permanently banned from xbox live, I will be greatly saddened as in truth I think they deserve something for being on so long...

They're down to 14 or 13 now, booker may be gone but I'm not sure. Exquisite may be streaming again tomorrow night. I watch religiously (so to speak) and they don't know me from beans but I feel a kindred to them.

Yeah because in usual battles the enemy is paid to provide a service and the people fighting the enemy usually agree to a terms of service for said service.

Yeah, it's called the Geneva Convention.
