Hey all, new to the forum, long time halo player.

Well to get to my point, I am going to a local tournament at an EB Games by my house, and, well I need some last minute. This is a 1v1 tournament.

Thanks all for the help.

Last minute tips? Is it a slayer match (just making sure)? What do you need help on? I'd be glad to share some knowledge if you tell me what you need.

Well I beleave it is going to be a modified Slayer pro match (no radar, less kills, or something like that). I just need some over all tips, anything will do, map hints, reload hints, where to shoot, anything at all.

ty.

Make your character's name with just spaces, no letters, makes you harder to see. Pick a muted color for the armor for camo's sake, like a brown, tan or grey...

Oh yeah, pistol and shotgun are a good combo I think.

remember, you don't always have to aim for the head. Two shots anywhere on the body then a shot to the head will drop em.

edit: with the pistol of course.

So you don't know what you're getting into? Anyway, aim for the head with the sniper and pistol always. You probabaly already knew that, but it's a good reminder. Use short bursts when firing the AR to rip through the enemie's shields. Lead your target when sniping, and try to get headshots as often as possible. Don't camp when sniping, change your position after killing him for the element of suprise.

Yeah, I just called one of the guys that work there, he said it's a slayer pro match, only no radar, and custom setting on the weapons(so I start with AR and pistol).

In that case, evaluate the situation. See what spots have the good weapons, find sniping perches (spelling?), and always look around you. The enemy could be anywhere, never forget that. The AR and pistol work pretty well together, as they both go thruogh sheilds fast.

Always reload after you have defeated an enemy. Also if you use up a clip in a weapon its sometimes best to switch to your other weapon than wait for it to reload!
Also grenades are your best friends!

I think he means reload one, reload the other, then switch back to the original and it will be reloaded.

press reload 2x than switch to your other weapon. the first weapon will reload while it is "in your backpack". might want to mess around with this real quick to get the hang of it.

also after you pickup the invisibility a couple of short burst from the AR will turn you invisible quicker.

and unless you are amazing with a sniper rifle i would just stay away from it in 1v1. most likely you'll just be playing small levels and you'll just get pwned with a pistol if you pickup a sniper(unless you are really good).

Focused is talking about a glitch that reloads your weapon, and lets you shoot with your other weapon while it is going on.
i.e. you have 2 rounds left in your AR so you hit X,X,Y. This then puts your AR away and pulls out your other weapon, which you can fire with. Then you can pull out your AR and it will be fully loaded!

5. Seven is not optional, but rather, an inevitability.

Depending on the shield setting (No clue what Slayer Pro has), use the Needler, pistol, shotgun, and sniper rifle. Use the range of your weapons to your advantage. Duck a lot, and toss grenades when the opponent tries to hide. Always stay on the move and be ruthless. And if you feel like you're going to die, take the bastard with ya!!!!
