Subject: Always Getting Black Screen On Lockout

Whenever I create or join a game with the map Lockout, it tries to load it and then goes into a black screen.

I read another post a few years back but I don't understand what it says:

It says to try and install the map from the DVD?

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

According to that post, you could copy lockout.map from the DVD and copy it over the one in your Program Files\Halo 2\maps.

Tutorial if you are newbie to this, so i can make it easier: Insert halo 2 disc into your DVD-ROM. Go to my computer, right click on Halo 2 icon and click explore. Go to maps, find lockout, right click on it, copy, then go to your installed halo 2 directory, find maps folder, and just click paste. It will ask you to replace, you click "yes". Good luck :).

I did that but the issue still remains. I guess my computer just hates Lockout.

Thanks though ^_^

Grenades are like RAM, you can never have too much

i had this problem when i was (legaly -.-) emulating halo2 to a win98 for lan games, i fixed it by getting the IWHBYD skull (google it) this removes the effects from lockout and let my old crappy pc run it

How did you play LAN games on Win98? I could never get the game to play on LAN at all without Vista.

Is that true what you are saying. Because the thing is always asking you for product key. :(. And when you enter it it is still same :O.

I did update my drivers. My laptop is completely capable of playing Halo 2 PC. I can try the skull idea.. I'll google it and will report back in a few days if any success.

Umm just looked it up.. that looks really difficult and I guess I'll just have to go without Lockout unless one day I get a new PC.

Oh, and once or twice I did get it to load but after I moved a tiny bit, it went to black screen and I had to restart my computer. Bizarre.

Pioneer and Enthusiast for Halo 3.

Everything should be working fine. This has been a issue with one other poster. I can't remember the time, posted. However, all he had to do, was give his computer a nice cleaning. Cleaning; removing un-wanted programs and so so-forth.

After this, he un-installed and took out his Halo 2 Vista disc, cleaned it real well, then re-installed it.

It worked quite well after doing these easy steps.
