The figure for the first time shows a twinge of compassion, and his eyes once more remain a ruddy grey, with possibly a vien of icy blue.
You do not know how many before you thought so... How many have fallen. There was a maxim I once told your father. Empires fall. There are no exceptions. This is not about any empire though. This is about the survival of life itself. I have been given the gift and the curse of protection, but I can not preserve that which destroys itself. I implore you to think of the future, of what I have said. Chaos grows in the void, and it has waited too long to be silent. I will be watching, but should you need assistance, as I assure you will, remember to use this.
He hands you a small cube, Shimmering black and perfectly without scratch or mark. To your suprise, it becomes a sphere as you take it in your hand. Without warning, A brilliant light emanates from His eyes again and you can see inside the sphere. Fascinated, you look closer to see the outline of stars... no, galaxies. They become larger and expand outside the shpere itself until you are surrounded by them. You no longer see anything else, but are surrounded and completely taken by this expanding universe around you.
It becomes clear again in the full light of a star. You may call me from here when you need me, and see things many mortals desire to look in to. Until our next meeting...
Suddenly, you find yourself back in your transport, with the stranger gone. Hard and cold in your hand, the sphere remains.
