It's rediculus to think that with all that space that there isn't any inteligent life out there other that us. I'm sure that we are not the only inteligent life. I don't know about them flying here and experimenting on people. It would take forever to get here. But then again if you told some one 400 years ago that we would walk on the moon they would probably assume that you were a witch and burn you. We can't imagine being able to travel that fast but that dosn't mean that it's imposible. I've seen a few U.F.O.s but all of them I could come up with a logical explanation for. One thing is certain if they have been studying us then they're not hostile. They could have vaporised us years ago.

I have a theory. It's pretty far fetched but think about it. People always describe aliens as having no hair. This leads me to belive that they are amphibians or at least aquatic mammels. Scientists belive that humans evolved in the water and that's why we have less hair then most primates. Well then, I ask, why aren't there other primates that live in the water? And then I think maybe there are. It's posible that these "aliens" aren't from a different planet at all. They could be from earth. From the ocean.

If there are, we shouldn't worry about them... until they attack us.

I'm starting to doubt whether we are intelligent life or not. I mean come on, we put Fear Factor, Survivor and Who Wants To Marry My Dad on TV. Imagine if aliens intercepted those transmissions..."Avoid that planet at all costs! In order to be accepted in their culture we must apparently consume Oxen Testicles and risk our lives for fruitless prizes!"

I sure believe in them. You can't have an infinite ammount of planets, galaxies and star systems if only one of them supports life.It would seem stupid otherwise.
In fact, I think I saw a UFO when I was ten.I was driving in New Mexico (I was on some sort of road trip) and I saw something in the sky. It was very far up,whatever it was, so I couldn't make out any details besides that it was black, teardrop shaped, and it was doing some sort of zig-zaggy motion in the sky.
Very weird.

Its also ignorant of us to think we are the only intelligent lifeforms and also sad cause we ain't that intelligent.

exactly, it's mathmaticly for only one planet out of a googaplex (or what ever it's called) plantets to have inteligent life. But we are the smartest ; )

Have you guys ever erad the book The Hitchhiker's Guide to The Galaxy? It says that there are three intelligent beings: First are the mice. Then the dolphins. Then us. It's easy to believe, looking at the people who invented Fear Factor.u

To think that our planet had all the necesities that we would need, oxygen, ozone layer, perfect distance from the sun, inhabitable, are absolutely absurd. you have a higher chance of jumping to the moon rather than life spontaneously generating by chance.

Well we have the one idiot here - Mithrandir apparently is one of the moronic Christians that thinks the earth is only 7000 years old too. Or maybe he's not really as religious as he would like people to believe -- He is awful violent for a christian -- I think he's just a cawkbite.

basically what should of happened if there even was a "big bang" is that the matter should of kept moving and dissipated completely, for in space theres nothing to stop a moving object. The 2nd law of thermodynamis states that explosions always cause disorder and chaos. Instead we come up with this perfectly ordered universe that we have today. (bs)

Apparently you have some strange notion of the term "perfectly ordered" and surely you concede that there is a universe? If God only created us what the hell is the rest of the real estate for?

And just for your edification, the universe has not stopped expanding. It's still going. Read a book.

Also by all we now it was chaotic and violent forces that allowed life to exist on earth. So the chaos of the big bang does make sence.

then it would make perfect sense then in 64 million years we would've separated ourselves from the sun completely. and tell me my friend. where did this so called "cosmic egg" appear from in the first place for, "it is impossible for matter to be created or destroyed."

Gravity from the sun keeps us in orbit or we WOULD have separated from it -- Please start making sense mithrandir - Don't jump in with the big dog if you can't throw your weight

It is impossible for matter to be created or destroyed - only changed. That is true yes...

 • 08.01.2004 7:16 PM PDT

I always wondered what was in the universe before the big bang... And if something did exist, how did it get there?

The universe demonstrates incredible order and design. The big-bang theory simply defies the laws of science and logic. The odds that such an explosion could produce the highly organized structures we see in the universe and 1 to 10(followed by 2 billion zeroes) absolutely impossible.
