would it somehow be possible to create a classic LIVE server? I have a server in my house. It is a year or two old but it might be able to handle a few rounds of halo 2.

Halo 2 was my favorite game ever made. Halo 2, I miss you...

Damn you Microsoft. I hate you so much and your continued disappointment in your choices. You are like a terrible girlfriend that you just can't dump.

Noble Actual

I'm glad that people didn't want Xbox Live to be shut down. My 360 was away for repairs so I played with my friend for 5 days on Halo 2. I enjoyed those final days as much as I could.

I enjoyed halo 2 more than halo 3, i do miss the games online, i even sometimes go back in splitscreen with a friend to coagulation. I sometimes even go on just to drive the 'hog around that canyon :(.

Halo 2 will be missed.

Im enjoying a canyon drive at the moment :).

Someone should sticky this in honor of the brave Spartans that died for Halo 2.

You guys are blowing this whole thing out of proportion. You are treated (and acting like) some sort of heroes that are "fighting to the bitter end" when in reality you are just a sad bunch of people that havent turned their consoles off for a week and a half. Its sad.

This guy is totally right it is very sad. Sorry, but this isn't something to be proud of.

What's really sad is the fact that these days, people can't do what they think is fun or cool or something they enjoy. No matter how dorky or nerdy it is to you, it means something to them.

These are not the only people who can't do what they think is fun or cool or something they enjoy. I never said this was dorky or nerdy. What's so fun or cool about leaving your xbox 360 on for almost a month, never turning it off, just to play Halo 2. Just think when others hear that, why act like these people are heroes or are making their last stand? No, it's not. It's just a bunch of people who couldn't live without another day of xbox live for Halo 2. They couldn't wouldn't turn off their xboxs until the Red Rings of Death or lost connection somehow. Playing on the last day was enough. It was one last hurrah, saying goodbye to Halo 2. That was awesome. That's what the Final Day of Halo 2 was for. Besides you can still play it with friends. It's not like Halo 2 will be gone forever.

If it really meant something to these people to not turn off their xboxs for almost a month, label themselves as "The Final Few", and get called heroes then I feel sorry for them. They did not display "dedication" or "loyalty" to Halo 2. These people only showed they had way too much time on their hands.

I don't know why you want to bash us. Maybe you're jealous, maybe you're a jerk, I really don't care. But if you don't have anything nice to say, just don't post in this thread please. We don't think we're high-and-mighty because we stayed online for so long, we just wanted to help the world remember Halo 2, and send it out with a bang.

And it was great! I tracked down a copy of Halo 2 just to be there for the "last" day, and the day after that. Afterwards, I got disconnected. Later, I found this, and jumped into the live streams, watched for weeks, made some friends, and got to know some of the Final Few. Simply awesome!

Again, fantastic job, guys!

Halo 2.

You guys were legends.
I would have joined you but I didn't wanna risk a red ring for Reach.

I never saw this post till just now(a little late seeing as how Reach comes out in less than 2 days). I'm glad someone got the list of us out there. I was number 22 and would have loved to have kept going. We all have a huge place in our hearts for this game and made sure to see it off right.

so i heard u guis kinda liek that halo 2 game...

I've played it once or twice... I don't know what all the fuss is all about!

The reason why you don't know what all the fuss is all about is because you never really played it.

Halo 2 is my favorite regular xbox game and I used to play it nonstop every weekend when I got to go to my dads house. The multiplayer gameplay was fantastic and probably better than most games even now in my opinion. Campaign was also great. Oh and my favorite part were the glitches. Had so much fun with my old glitching clan.

Halo 2 will always be great.

-blam!- your opinion boys. Your sitting here knocking on people's own stand against Microsoft's bull-blam!- cut of Halo 2 saying a bunch of -blam!- about how nothing was achieved and it was just a bunch of folks with nothing better to do with their time. Yal are not exactly saying much about yourself when all yal have to do with your time is troll on the forums knocking on what other people do with their time.

GTFO trolls. These Halo 2 guys are legit. More legit than any of you will ever hope to be with such bad posts that are a waste of time.

Edit - On a lighter note. I find it funny not soon after Halo 2 is cut ol' Microsoft decides Xbox Live should be 10 bucks a month. So a larger income revenue yet they had to cut Halo 2. It is what it is I suppose. Microsoft is a company after all. Good luck to all you guys migrating to Xbox Connect and Halo 2 Vista. Bungie has pretty much stated Halo 3 will follow the same fate eventually but they will keep it going as long as they can for achievements and such.

Until I see a body, Noble 6 is not dead. (Yes, I'm stuborn)
Besides
A) Death Is Cheap

B) We Never Saw A Body

C) I passed a few dozen of him/her today in matchmaking.

I just found out about this, and I am truly impressed with the effort.

I just fondly remembered this when looking at my burned through xbox.

I just did it because I like playing h2 and it made me feel good to end all those great years on something memorable, with a story of some kind.
+ it got really fun with that little micro community of guys left.

so yeah,

much love.
