I borrowed a copy of ODST from a friend about a month ago. Now while i didn't play online (as in not through xbox live but my xbox was still connected to the 'net) i throughly enjoyed my experience.

Yesterday, i bought a copy of ODST and today i decided to get some achievements online. But while i was playing online with friends i started experiencing some severe lag its bad in both firefight and campaign.
~the game just stops and barely jumps from frame to frame.
~music is playing in the backround (if there is any) that doesn't lag up.
~your upper part of your body can see through your bottom part of your body. the upper part can fully move around while the lag is happening.
~It never recovers. we waited 20 minutes and it barely jumped a frame.

Everybody had good connections so I'm thinking its me. My disc isn't perfect its got very minor scratches but nothing really serious or game breaking.

Was there any reports of bad copys of ODST? If so, should i go take my game back and get another copy?

Thank you for the advice.

ODST is generally a very laggy game when playing over XBL. Lag-outs and stoppages in gameplay similar to what you described are fairly common.

Here are some tips to reduce how much the game lags:
-Install the game to your hard drive
-Go into theater mode to find out who has the best connection and give that player party leader status
-Make sure no one else in your and your teammates' houses are not using the Internet
-Make sure you have good upload and download speeds from your ISP
