If you look at the member since dates, I haven't seen a account older than mine for a long time. All the Halo fans stopped coming on here because of all the new people that are really irritating. I knew I should have made one a few months before i did, i just didn't see a reaon to.

U didn't see very many Past the date Halo 2 came out. To show I am right only Halo 2 people get on anymore. I made one because I saw that this forum was kool. Halo fans get on, they just don't say much so they don't get nailed by a lot of stupidity.

Few months later IT STARTED TO BLOW. Before Halo 2 came out. It was always fun to get on and see what people were talking about.

The Moderators used to be on everyday too. I carried out a conversation with Shishka once (he most likely wouldn't remember, i wasn't the only one talking to him though). The last time he got on, the guy he was talking to, trying to correct, he was horribly dissing on Shishka.

I'm amazed I still get on, i don't go to the Halo 2 forumd though. They drone on about the stupidest things. I haven't looked at it for a few months, but i'm guessing it hasn't changed.

Yea, frankly, I wasn't that pleased with Halo 2 anyways. The community is worse, and the lack of an ending somewhat hurts it's reputation. Although a majority of Halo 1 fans switched to Halo 2 (I have no idea why) and thus it's left to us few to populate the vaccums of the Library.

I didn't get into Halo until a few days before they came out with Halo 2 and I didn't get a bungie.net account until after I got live, but there are still a few people who come here, it's real fun to discuss the books with people.

Hey man, that's cold, I have loved Halo from the first day it came out, I just didn't have internet, but in March, I got the internet so I could take the best game in the world to live. If Halo1 had live, I would have gotten it sooner.

I said the majority, not everyone. There are still kool people that get on, just not very many. Most of them are irritating.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Well,

I could have cared less about any of this stuff until halo 2 came out.

Personally think people like you are sad. You think because you joined thise place before someone else did that you are better then they are.

Does it matter?

BUNGIE was really that well known until halo came out, they were a name, but they where not one of the major players, and Halo 2 was what really put them in the books for ever.

But what ever. Cry your sad song like a cow boy. You and al your elitest friends can think your betther then me all you want.

Without us this site would be dead.

Ya I notice that a lot too, there used to be so much cool stuff to read on these forums and actually intelligent discussions. Not that it matters, but I had to create a new profile to link a new Gamertag to, but I have been here for some time, even though its says 2005.

Hrm, I hate forums, they are unbelievably pointless :) But yeah, i'd love to know how many people still actively play the original today. Surely I cant be the only one.

I play the halo 2 as well as halo 1. And I do prefer the original and its cool that there is a forum for the ORIGINAL players of Halo: Combat Evolved.

Driven to distraction. ^_^

Humm, I agree with some of what you said. The forums did go downhill immediately once Halo 2 was released. I used to check them every day prior to H2 but they got filled with complaints/arguments once people could buy it. I stopped checking them for a few months and only returned recently.

The forums have got better but are still not up to their former glory. I think the influx of membership brought many inexperienced forum users to bnet who do not check the FAQs/ old topics and we end up with many more repeated threads.

Ah well. The only way things can improve is if we make an effort. Only post on topics you are interested in, stay on topic and don't flame. 'Nuff said.

What I don't get is why so many people prefer such a shallow, lifeless game as Halo 2 over Halo 1. Halo 2 is for adrenaline junkies and that's it. Nobody who's into good stories and gameplay based on SKILL should choose H1 over H2. I rarely play Halo 2; I play Halo: CE all the time. It always has something more to give. Halo 2 ran out before I finished it.

I'm still finding stuff tht hasnt been posted on hih or hbo, done some really nice exploring with the maw's elevator and also got a great floor falling technique for aotcr & 2 betrayals.
I guess it's how you look at it, it's a lot more relaxing after a long day to chill thru campaign no-scoping than being pwned by some kid with invisibility and rockets.. with the nerve to teabag you. Gotta love Big team Battle

Gentlemen, I feel your pain. To be good at Halo 1 you needed actual skills. In Halo 2 all you need is a tank or 2 smg's. As a result, millions of 8 year olds started logging on and clogging Xbox live and these forums. How about an Xbox Live version of the original Halo?

(My User is so recent because I just found this site and it's forums. Had I known, I would have been on years ago.)

Can't disagree with you there. It's the weapon choices that take a lot of love out personally. When the live matchmaking introduced the Battle Rifle, I really got into hammering on Outskirts & Gravemind..
Out of a dozen or so people I know with Halo2, i'm the only one to have finished it. I can live without live/xbconnect/kai .. adrenaline junkies indeed :)

I like my Covenant like i like my woman, screamin and with a sticky on there face.

i totally agree with u i mean i used to come on the forum everyday and put some of my 2 cents down but then all the retards and hell i barely even looked at any of these forums for about 3 months. The only thing i look at under the halo 2 sections is the story that guy wrote bc i always liked the books and he wrote a damn good story. And hell unless im playin halo 2 with someone i just go back to halo 1 even thoughj i practically memorized the game its still more fun than playin halo 2. pc out

Bungie.net is the only website that has been able to hold my interest for such a long period of time, and I can only imagine there are still many years to come.

halo 1 owns halo 2... thats my 2 cents peace

This is my third account at Bungie. I just changed my name every so often because i didn't like the one i had. I have been a member for a while. Not as far back as Marathon or Oni ect, but as far back as the original Halo. I love it. You're in my Halo group aren't you? But you are right. It is hard to get people for my group.

P.s if anyone loves Halo then give my signature a click.

Well... That's true. There isn't any discussion on Multiplayer with Halo 2 anymore. It's all complaining about something. Hackers, cheaters... glitching.
With Halo 1, you won't have that problem. Nobody really talks about the classic Split-Screen or System Link! It is really fun, still.

Yup I randomly visit these forums every once in awhile but am not really interested in halo 2 anymore. But theres something that really doesn't make sense to me; I have seen many posts (possibly a few fundred) here and on other forums where a person will claim that they have had enough of halo 2 and are going back to halo 1 (generally meaning getting on xbc). However the most people I've seen on xbc in the last few months has been 30 hosts at best (which is still an improvement) but I miss the 500 some people (including those who join games) on xbc who used to play halo 1 around the clock. Halo 2 has not only caused many a frustrations leading to my quitting of it but has also dampened the fun factor of halo 1. Oh well theres always halo 3 ..AHAHHA
