Subject: Halo CE Red X Disconnects

;)

All day I keep getting a box in the right hand screen like trying to disconnect. Causing warping and issues.
any ideas?

I removed Gamespy, restarted computer-modem with no luck.

Please do not remove Gamesy, it is not interfering with ur connection. Problem you got is server problem or ping problem, or how server far is away. If you did removed Gamespy but still playing, then, there is a problem...

First time its been this bad, I'll try a reinstall. Tried ComboFix no bugs in OS. Usually never an issue.
Thnx.

Something smells fishy...

What is your network configuration? Do you have a DSL or cable modem? Are you connected via wireless? It would be helpful if you posted your network specifications.

The red X symbol in the corner usually refers to connection problems. It's most likely that your connection to the internet is experiencing problems. You should make sure that your network is functioning properly.

Network setting tried on average and Cable (High) settings. Resolutions down as well.

Modems Linksys CM 100 run straight(No Router) to NC100 network card.

Did you checked your firewall, your antivirus? In most antviruse programs there is gaming option enabled, you disable it.

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

That speed is unreal.

Read it again, yo. 35 MB/s downstream. Ridiculous. Average for cable is about 10 MB/s last I checked. I'm lucky to get a fraction of that.

lawl, woops,
I think it's low, if he opted for the 50Mb/s service, that is terrible.

I think it has do with DOCSIS 3, which is why we can get higher than 10 Mb/s.

@ OP

Try testing your connection.
Microsoft Internet Evaluation
It can only be ran on Internet Explorer.

Speedguide.net
See if these registry tweaks will fix anything.

oh, nevermind....

The thing is most use Boost technologies which will not sustain your speed. This gives you good speeds but never constant through the cycle.

How much do you pay a month for that? If you say under $50, I'm gonna go postal on my ISP.

No gamer deserves to put up with the bull-blam!- that ISPs give.
It would be great if the ping didn't even reach 1ms.

That would be like normal game with bots, jsut replace real players, no lag, no ping.. all fine.

Not really Dusk, my price would have been near $60 for a norm. As companies shift towards fiber optics it's going to improve.

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

I'll bet most residential connections in the USA don't even hit 1mb down. We are so far behind the other advanced countries it isn't funny. We pay a lot too for crap.

I played on dial up with a shotgun modem for years at farm in the outskirts of town.
I can relate

just fyi, you don't need gamespy to play, i never have it installed, so i don't see a need for it.

I'm paying $50/mo for 2MB down that drops to near dial-up speeds during peak hours. I'm getting screwed.

I'm hoping like crazy some of that fiber's gonna make its way up here, but given the remote location, it probably won't happen soon.
