I know this probably belongs in The Maw, but the answers I get there are limited, and theres new posts in The Underground literally every minute.

I'm looking to spend $180 TOPS on a new video card. I currently have a VisionTek Xtasy Radeon 9200 SE. The one video card that I've read good reviews on and looks good is the Radeon 9600 XT. My conflict is deciding which 9600 XT to get (From Ati, Abit, Sapphire, Celestica, etc.).

If someone can tell me which one is the best, and which one can run Halo's single player the best, I'd really appreciate it.

You shouldn't even need a new card for Halo. I still have my Radeon 8500 (128 meg) and it runs Halo great. I'd go with an ATI or Abit card, since they're the most updated/reliable.

Ah, but I do. I have to turn everything (specular, shadows, particles, text. quality, etc.) all the way down just to play the single player. Works fine in MP, but in single player it looks really crappy.

This is somewhat typical in FPS games. In MP the game does not have to deal so much, as it does not have to deal with things like AI.

Edit: Grrr hit submit too soon.

The Radeon 9800 XT is pretty good. I have heard good things about the Powercolor 9800 XT in that you can unlock it to near 9800 pro ; ) you can easily pick one up for around 180.
