Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

What no Fermi?

And where is the CPU overclock?

I set up this box about a year ago and haven't had an money for upgrades. But yes, FERMI looks damn sexy.

I also haven't OC'd my CPU for the same reason; No money. I need to focus a little more on longevity than performance, not to mention I wouldn't have money for a replacement if I messed something up. Not that it matters, cause it's doing pretty well for itself at factory clock.

Admittedly, the thought of OCing has been crossing my mind recently, for both my CPU and GPU, considering the release of newer processors... and FERMI...

You think Halo 1 and 2 are garbage?

No. The original was a marvel of its time. The PC version of the game was fantastic in gameplay, if somewhat lacking in features. Halo 2 was pretty much crap.

Halo Combat Evolved was and IS still a great game. However, the way you feel about Halo 2, is your opinion. You are entitled to it. I am still very ashamed that you would say such a thing.

In my opinion, as well as many others; Halo 2 has a great campaign. It had a amazing experience brought to us in matchmaking, aand continues today on the PC! Have you ever played Halo 2? Really, just got the chance to sit down and play it for at least a hour. It's a great game!

matchmaking doesnt even exist, do you even know what the hell you are talking about

Matchmaking DOES exist in Halo 1 and 2 PC. They just use a different word for it. I think it's called "Multiplayer." It's still the exact same thing.

Halo PC was awesome. The campaign was great. The addition of the Flood in the middle of the game without very much warning was perfect. The ending was so unique. No boss fight just a mad rush through an exploding ship to escape with your life. Multiplayer was nicely balanced the pistol alittle overpowered but that kept the rocket and sniper from being the defacto weapon of choice. The warthog both versions were easy to drive but managable to take out if you were on foot. The maps were great esp Blood Gulch and Danger Canyon. They both both offered many different routes to capture and fight for the flags. Even the lag made the game unique in that you had to adjust and those that could would do better then others. The only thing HaloPC really lacked was an AFK kick and maybe a better lobby.

Halo 2 was OK. The campaign moved the story along and you go to play as an elite which was cool at first but grew tiresome. There was a boos fight in the middle and one at the end a mild disappointment. The pistol was neutered, the batter rifle was born. The covenent got a whole slew of vehicles that were ho hum. The marines got a gauss hog, awesome. Multiplayer was destroyed. You couldn't drive or gun with the flag. You ran slow as molasses and your field of vision was cut in half it felt like. Whoever designed Coagulation took the greatesr multiplayer map of all time and made it the worst. That person should have all of their skin flogged off and then urinated on. To someones credit the two maps that were released with H2V were actually very well done balanced and fun to play. The other maps were just meh. Zanzibar was allright but I always uncomfortable on that map and could never figure out why. Windows Live was a COMPLETE failure and will probably sealed the fate on Halo 3 not coming to the PC.

Good post here. I really enjoyed it. Everyone has a different opinion abotu Halo 1 and 2. I personally prefer Halo CE's campaign as well, but that doesn't mean that I didn't enjoy Halo 2's. H2's brough a real comfort to me, and still does to this day with all of the action and fun combat that gors on inside of it.

Halo 2 had one hell of a Server for Multiplayer and a even more of a kick ass server on the Xbox console. I really did enjoy it. It was a great game!

Halo CE has awesome campaign. No doubt; muliplayer was one hell of a ride, and still coninues to drive us today.

Bungie has done a great job.

That's some pretty broken logic.
Matchmaking uses a system called TrueSkill, and/or a ranking system.
Halo 1 PC/CE do not have this -blam!-.
Halo 2 Xbox does.
Halo 2 Vista does not.
Halo 3 Xbox has this.
Halo 3 : ODST does not.
Halo : Reach will have this.

No, it's not. Matchmaking uses any combination of quick-join functionality and "skill-based" or progression-based ranked placement as substitution for finding games manually.

I was wrong, and I admit this now. As you can still see my point, I was just tring to point it out to you "Multiplayer" rather than Matchmaking.

Anyways, please let this thread continue without all the anger. Halo PC Is a good game, and it deserves commentary here, and not flames.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

Halo 2 I don't mind, and I mean the original. The Windows version has all the problems mentioned above. Some people run it fine, some don't. Flip a coin. If you can't play it, attempt to get a refund, and forget about joining the H2V community. I'm apparently not wanted in that community anyway, so I guess that settles it for me.

Obi Wan was awesome, in a S&M kinda way. I miss him. I miss all the TUI freaks. Pretty soon The Maw will be owned by all the H2X refugees.

Think of it this way. A HDD is like a closet. Good games are like fresh clothes, ready to be worn. And Halo 2 is, well, a big steaming pile of crap. So why would ANYONE want a big steaming pile of crap in their closet instead of something useful?

I will have to admit. Xbox version for Halo 2 is WAY Better, and trying to get it on the PC was a major down fall. I can see your frustration. But still, even a major down fall doesn't mean that it's a bad game. In my opinion; Halo 2 has better multiplayer than Halo CE.

Oho no. My comments generally apply to Halo 2 regardless of platform. Halo 2's multiplayer, be it on Xbox or PC, is a noobified mess of a game that never should have seen the light of day. It spawned an entire generation of wanna-bes who think they're God's gift to gaming when they could never ever take on any gamer worth his/her salt in a real man's game, and bred an era of console games that favored accessibility by pre-adolescents over worthwhile gameplay, which eventually bled over to the PC in the form of H2V, and later, MW2.

Here's a great example. Idiots are claiming that aim assist has to exist on console FPS games, because aiming is just "too hard." That is absolutely laughable. You take any legit gamer, put him on Halo 3, and tell him to team kill using nothing but the BR, and he'll -blam!- his teammates with precision accuracy, making it look like a walk in the park. It's not hard; That's just a delusion brought about by the mass noobification brought about in the console FPS genre, which primarily started with Halo 2.

This is not sarcastic. I appreciate your commentary. Do you have anything other to say about Halo 2 that is actually good? What about the original Halo PC? Do you have anything good to say about either games? Like I said, I really do appreciate even negative feedback.

It seems like at least 80% of you all hate Halo 2 for vista. Many have explained why, and you all have decided to some-how have the same answers. You either said it was to laggy, noobish gaming with aim assist, and numerous glitches. I see these glitches. A game is a game, and I really appreciate Halo 2 for Vista. No offense, but the xbox version for multiplayer is way better (even after iy was taken offline.) Still, many continue to play H2V because of the xbox originals being taken offline. I was just curious if anyone (like me) has anything good to say about the game?

If not, then we can go for a classic. Take yourself back in the day from when you got your first copy of halo Combat Evolved. Imagine how excited you were. What about today? Surely, nothing is as ever good as it once was, but you can still have a ton of fun playling a great classic. Isn't that something to agree with?
