I think half life 2 will be better than both.

Whoa I thought that Half life 2 sucks balls same with counterstrike.

I think dom 3's storyline/plot is kind of weak. "missions on mars, anyone?"

Halo 2 all the way no questions asked. ;P

doom 3 only supports 4 people max for multiplayer. that blows. all i play is multiplayer unless its halo/halo2

What about the Single player since id spent like 90% of the time one their single player, which do you think will be better.

Everyone knows Doom 3 is coming out in less than 2 days. I know everyone would say Halo 2 will be better, but I think Doom 3 is a huge contender for 2004 FPS of the year and Game of the Year. Gamespot did a hands on article and they say that the game is brilliant and amazing, even though it isn't truly innovative. Will you guys buy it when it comes out for PC or Xbox. I know I am. Which will you think has a better single player, considering that Id put 5 years in this game all centered on single player experience, and they are one of the top developers. I think Halo 2 will be better game overall, but Doom 3's single player just may be better than Halo 2's (I wont officially say which one till I play it)

i dont know what reviews you have read but both ign and gamespot have said that while the game is really great. it has been less exciting to see each subsequent time it was shown to the public. i will buy it. but i dont think it will top halo 2

In my view, there are 4 main categories that these games compete in for my top dollar(well, I'll probably get all three, though).
Best, then 2nd Best, then Worst

Graphics
Doom, Halo 2, Half-Life 2

Gameplay
Halo 2, Half-Life 2, Doom

Immersion
Half-Life 2, Halo 2, Doom

Multiplayer
Halo 2, Half-Life 2, Doom

Replay Value
Halo 2, Half-Life 2, Doom

So, tally it up, and for me you get Halo 2, Half-Life 2, and Doom. The replay value was just how much more time you could spend playing, but multiplayer has some of that, too, so Half-Life 2 just trails Halo 2, with Doom in a distant third. Doom just doesn't seem very story-driven to me, it's just monster pops out, kill it. When I watched those Half-Life 2 videos, one thing struck me as amazing:the degree of a sense of realism. Everything seemed so real, and true, and the environments were gorgeous, plus how you could interact with everything. And then Halo 2 single-player looks absolutely beautiful, plus the story, as far as we know it, seems great, plus, Halo 2 multiplayer beats any multiplayer hands down for me. The original was the best, this is gonna be even better. Half-Life 2 multiplayer(CS:Source) doesn't seem interesting to me(I didn't like the original Counter Strike). And Doom multiplayer seems almost non-existent to me(what, 4 people at a time? What is this, N64?)
