I was just checking out the HBO site, when I saw a brand new news post on the page.

So I took a look at the post and read what it had to say. It said that this person's dad packages Xbox Live headsets for Microsoft and that his dad's company just started molding prototypes for new headsets. The dad discussed it with his family one time, and the person, curious about this new headset, asked his dad about it. The dad said that it is the normal design except it is of a clear green color and is going to be packaged with a game. So the person showed the dad the H2 logo, and the dad said that that's the logo on the new headset.

Is that leading to a Halo 2 headset included in the game package? Well, it sure sounds like it, more lickely it is going to be in the Limited Edition Package. The person said that he would post pictures of the headset if his dad is able to bring a prototype of the headset home with him. Sounds good to me!

For the full story, go read it at the HBO forum.

EDIT: There is a little more information posted by the person here. It seems the headsets are going to be shipped sometime in October. Plenty of time before November 9th...

Well, if you put it that way, think of it as a contribution to the millions of Halo 2 thirsty people drooling away waiting for November 9th to come. I think of it as well worth the risk.

It also never said when the dad might bring it home. It could be a couple months from now, and by then, they might've already released the arrival of a new headset in a game to the public.

one reason why this could never happen is because the le is only 5 bucks more, a head set for 5 bucks = massive money loss.

Is it just me, or is there an overage of kids whos dad works on some secret project?
Not at all saying this is inaccurate information, but I suggest skeptism. Having it posted on HBO makes it a bit more believeable, though.

But, there are going to be hundreds of millions of copies sold. Plus other Xbox Live kits for non-Le owners, and the regular game. If anything, it will be quite a profit.

i find it believable because:
1) Bungie has not said anything about a special headset. So out of all the things you could dream up why a headset.

2) He didn't claim to have one right now.

3) Promised us pics if he can get some.

4) Time frame seems right.

Yes, I too believe it could happen. All those are minor yet convincing reasons to believe a new headset will be packaged with Halo LE.

Thank you focused7. Now as much as I feel your rage upon seeing a post just like yours after you created a new thread grunty, there is no need to curse and yell out explicit words just because someone beat you to the chase.

one reason why this could never happen is because the le is only 5 bucks more, a head set for 5 bucks = massive money loss.

The reason would be to increase XBL subscriptions. Halo 2 might include a 3 month trial of XBL and with an included head set people will get the full XBL experience from the begining with out having to spend extra time and money. Then they will be more likely to continue their account after the trial period.

I'm sure they would still be making a profit off of it even if it included the headset. Check it Halo is now down to $20 and I'm sure they aren't selling it for a loss.

I bet bungie has more money than they know what to do with it. Halo has already sold hundreds of millions of copies globally.

You bet I was exaggerating. Thank you for clearing it up Bubbaduck. Halo sold around 4 million copies so far, I believe.
