Soon to be breaking news:

US Coast Guard prepares for massive rescue mission after Iranian fleet sinks off shore. Reports say a small thunderstorm caused most of the ships to simply...fall apart.

So, I was at the end of The Pillar of Autumn, spamming grenades. An Elite was missing, I thought he was dead so I went over to a lifepod to trigger the cutscene.

And then I discovered the Elite. Inside the lifepod. I thought for a while and decided to throw grenades near it to see if it would kill him. It took a couple of tries, but it worked. Has anyone ever encountered this before?

I have not seen that, but I have had situations where enemies had gotten into some pretty funny spots. It is usually an elite who has dove out of the way of a grenade, then had said grenade go off and trigger a lay about grenade, the ensuing explosion sends him somewhere unexpected. One of the most annoying ones is during T & R, where an invisible elite will dive out of the way of a grenade and end up landing on the docked Spirit dropship. You think everybody is dead (ya know, cause you cant see him and why on God's green earth would you closely inspect the upper hull of the Spirit, I mean come on!)then WHAM! he nails you with enough plamsa to melt you to the deck. Good times were had by all...........

Haha, wow. If an Elite ended up there, and never fired, I would've gone mad because I wouldn't be able to advance until everyone is dead.

Pioneer and Enthusiast for Halo 3.

Has this occured for me? No.
It would have been great if you would have gotten inside the Life-Pad to trigger the cut scene with the Elite. Hey, you never know. It could have worked!

Wanna know why my username is so q.ueer? Cuz I was 17 when I made it. And I was a q.ueer at 17. Everyone is.

Two things.

1.)Wild Recon. Check it out.

2.) ODST 4th Battalion. Join it. Love it. Live it.

The thing is, sometimes, when you throw a frag, and the enemy rolls a bit too late, it actually launches them into the air and they land somewhere far off, where you'll discover them later.

Frags and Plasmas are actually fun to toss near elites, rather than at them, when they are near the edges of bridges and such. I love watching them plummet to their death (as opposed to me for a change!) and seeing the shields discharge and all. Those flailing arms. Grunts are absolutely hilarious to do this too. They usually have great dialogue when they are diving out of the way.

A rocket launcher or Scorpion round near an elite is one of the best ways to get them into odd places. There are alot of rock, boulder and wall nooks, crannies and tops that they would normally not be able to get too and the detonation of a near enough to move but not so close to kill round can do fun things. One of the most common is where you first get a tank on AotCR at the iced pond, just to the right of the tree near the tank, that cliff side will hold an elite at a very funny angle, and he will not jump off.

It is a bigger challenge to get a live enemy somewhere, but alot of fun can be had moving dead bodies with explosions. Piling needles into a covie corpse can be especially satisfying. The end hangar battle of Keyes, when all of the enemies are dead usually has a hanger floor littered with at least 6 bodies, numerous unexploded plasma grenades and such. I have had much fun moving all of those bodies out of the hanger to the ring surface below with the explosive help of needlers and plasmas. Very amusing stuff!

This is one of the areas that actually improved with H2. It is not that often that I speak (or type) kindly about H2, but with Sputnik, Catch and GBP, well things can get very very amusing!

Guess Nosolee accidently chose the wrong pod and forgot his active camo. heh. (thats a reference to the novel "the flood" btw)
