Ok, I caught the bug. I loaded and installed halo PC CE with no problems this morning, but for some reason receive the following message whenever I try to open it from the shortcut on my desktop:
A problem occurred initializing Direct 3D. Hardware acceleration maybe disabled please run DXDIAG
DirectDraw is enabled, as is Direct3D. I’ve run the tests for both and both passed with no problems.
AGP acceleration is “Not Available”. I do have an AGP card, as you can see from the system information listed…
I’ve downloaded a couple of maps and extracted them to the maps file in Halo PC CE, my halo PC disc is in the DVD drive and I can hear it run (useless info I’m sure, but better to get it out of the way). I even tried running Halo PC first and then running halo PC CE while PC was up. Nada.
The only problem I could find was in the system information “DX Setup Parameters: Not found”.
I was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem with halo CE and could share the solution.
Thanks.
