I think they must have spent time looking at people firing actual weapons to get the scale and angles correct.

Golden eye 007 had that for 64. I think someone at Bugnie realized that part needed to be perfected. Thats why Halo 2 is going to be the best first person shooter (in the way it feels) with best graphics.

I have noticed that even the muzzle flash is really good. If you watch the battle rifle in zoomed mode you can see some muzzle flash to your right but not so much that it distracts you. Its just a small detail that add to the game.

I wish I could sumerize all these things about Halo 2 first person qualities in one sentence. I hate when people are like: "why is Halo 2 gonna be so great"

I always think about all the big details, and the numerous small ones that make it so real.

There are so many little details in the game that make it so good and that I think is what makes it so good. Few if any games focus on small graphic detail or story lines like Halo. I remember one update where Frankie mentions seeing animal and plant life being added to the enviroment.Even such minor stuff like making the clouds move across the screen add to the feeling of realism and help imerse the player in the enviroment. I played Halo 1 for years before I discovered the clouds moved in the The Maw when you look through the control room windows.
