I am stunned and amazed that it took so long for the map idea to come up on this forum; it was the first thing that popped into my head, though I was forced to read all 8 pages of posts to make sure that I wouldn't be reiterating anyone else's idea... anyway, it seems rather clear that an overhead map is the feature they're talking about (I think I heard something about this somewhere else, too, but I don't trust any information not straight from Bungie.) I wonder if they combine it with the motion tracker? If not, I doubt it has red dots on it to represent enemy forces like Myth did, as that would make the motion tracker irrelivent.
Any thoughts?

poundin shields (and beers)

Thanx for the update! The only problem is that I have such a hard time every year getting in to E3(making up credentials, telling lies that will send me to hell) just to see what you guys are gonna do every year. Please confirm for me that Halo 2 will be playable at E3 somewhere in the column so I can get my camping gear together for the show.
P.S. If it is your gonna need security to remove me from the machine every day at closing.

Well, I read in Game Informer Magazine that when they got to play halo 2. There where 4 teams: red, blue, green, and gold. That is sweet and they also gave a lot more info. You guys need to go and check it out. Ohh good update.

I just had a question about the new Halo 2. I was just wondering if there was going to be any new options, such as letting up to four players work together in a co-op campaign? If you or anyone else here knows anything about that or could let me in on a few secrets I would greatly appreciate it.

*Smacks forehead*

Stupid

*Smacks forehead again*

The pop-up map, of couse. It all makes so much since. The levels will be bigger and more complicted and they don't want to put arrows all over the place like in Halo. Brilliant, absolute genius, I'd almost forgotten about the that function. And its not any of their other games.

*Smacks forehead again*

Good job Jee Mynor Sventh and Jjarro

Good job man. Yeah the latest game informer mentioned 4 teams. The classic red and blue plus the new gold and green team colors.

How would the map work? Will it just be really small and replace the motion tracker or will it fill up the whole screen when you... say... hold down back?

One thing I remember about playing Myth online was the ability to custom your teams color. You could have a primary and a secondary color. I have seen several MP pics that have MC with a primary color and a secondary color. Could this be was Franky was talking about? I Don't know! But it would be nice to have a replay during MP games or a overhead map. If there was a map it would be best that it does not show the position of the enemy. Maybe on the easier difficulty settings but not on Legendary.

The directional pad could probably play a hefty role in the integration of a map. The D-pad is used in Halo as a way to move about (in addition to the thumbstick). Maybe it would be full screen, covering the action? Maybe it would be transparent, floating over the first person view point? The “back” button as a map initiator sounds good too (the d-pad was just the first thing that popped into my mind).
Judging by the format of the Marathon games, it seems doubtful that the Motion Tracker would need to be eliminated entirely. After all, a map in and of itself lends no information as to the whereabouts of nearby units. All in all, I'd prefer that they had both—the MT is just so convenient, elegant! :)

Just exactly WHERE and WHEN is this "E3" expo? Is it in Seattle? Cuz I live here (Seattle) and that would be just TOO f-ing sweet.... I heard about that "under 18" rule-that sucks some of you guys aren't 18, maybe it's time for a fake ID!(if you havn't gotten one already)

i have not been a member of the bungie site for long, however i have been keeping a very close eye one this site and anything which is relavant to HALO 2. I have read and re read anything of relavance to gather as much info as i posably can about HALO 2, and its progress. This now brings me to my point, and that is, that the pickings have been getting very scarce. i would hope that you take my request for more info to pick at under advisment, and hopefully remady my dilemma. So spice the weekly updates up a bit for all are sakes.

P.S. a fue more screen shots wouldn't go a miss ever.

Thankyou for you time.

Neojonah.
