First off, i must say that this fanfic is the best thing that I have ever read...period! I signed on to Bungie, just so I could respond to to this fanfic. I haven't really had previous knowledge about the history of Halo, but I must say that I have been drawn in by your originality Rainman. Here is a little background on how I came across this fanfic: I was originally looking for Halo artwork on Bungie and stumbled across this forum instead...I was, regretably to say, lost during the first few chapters because I was unaware what augmetation was and some of the weapon names were. I usually played Halo and Halo 2 with my friends and that was pretty much the only experience that I had with Halo was what I had played. This fanfic does a fantastic job at bringing out the history of Spartans which has made this a very successful story. I haven't really got too much into the Halo novels, but I must say Rainman, you could make a living doing this with the right connections. Your fanfic brings out many of the answers that I would never have received had I not read this, it brings out how Master Chief and his armor evolved from in Halo 2. I know I will probably be ridiculed for posting this, but oh well...it's like Halo, sometimes you own, sometimes you get owned. Either way, life goes on...
In order to not get Rainman another lock-up warning, let me get back on topic...I just wanted to share my story on how this changed my whole perspective on, not only the game but the history that is invovled with it. Now, the only thing that I think that could also help to get you to that 300+ page novel is a little more depth with some of the events that has already occured...Such as when Simmons was going in-flight to Reach (I think is what it was), there was another character introduced before take-off and then they were at their destination, with nothing important in between. Some events like this could involve a little more detail and the usual grammar, but other than that this story is amazing...I'm not trying to sound like I want you to write to please everyone else, because like others have said, this is your fanfic and you can write it however you feel. I wish the best of luck to you on the rest of your novel and I'll be trying to wait as patiently as humanly possible for the next installment of "The Forgotten Spartan."
