*Spoilers*

They were living in primitive ingnorance with monters in the forest that weren't real. They were in the middle of a -blam!- forest preserve surrended by modern day technology. I must admit though, when I thought the monsters had been real, they were pretty creepy.

I saw Manchurian Candidate instead of The Village. "Candidate" rocked, but I still wanna see the Village.

haha, Shamy...
my friends and i usually refer to him as M. Night Shamammemumaerlmu, or M. Night Shamalamadingdong.

SPOILERZ
as for the movie, i was actually a bit impressed with it as i was expecting it to be a steaming, stinking pile of monkey crap. the twist wasn't much of a shocker. my friends and i were joking throughout the movie about how it would be funny if there was a major highway just a short ways in the woods. and we were wondering, were the elders the only ones that knew about the monster hoax? because to our recollection there were many other adults in that little community. so, those would have to have been the most gullible people on the planet. if someone took me and put me into an amish community and told me there were bogeymen running around, i'd tell him to kiss my ass.

seriously great movie. 1337 ninJa DudEZ who say that they would "fight the monsters" and tell the village elders to "kiss they ass" didnt understand the meaning of the movie, and would be better of watching something like starship troopers. look, alien bugs and laser beams!! yay!!

ps, starship troopers is a dope movie, i was just using it to illustrate my point

I thought it was a great movie. There was still some good suspense in it, but it's more of a thinker movie at heart. It's not an all-out suspense movie like Signs was, it was more of a movie that got you thinking...kinda like Unbreakable. M. Night Shaly seems to like to alternate between the two...Sixth Sense was more of a suspenseful flick, and Unbreakable was more of a thinker. Signs was more suspense and The Village is more thinker. If you are going into The Village expecting a really scary and suspenseful movie, you're probably gonna come out a little disappointed. It was still an awesome movie, but it's more of a philosophical movie than anything.

Then one person gets sick or hurt forgot which and the girl has to go out inot the real world and find a hospital she grew up in the village and didn't know about the outside world.

Wow. I didn't see the movie, but if I was cheated out of a modern existence by some elders... they'd be part of the red on the doors.
