I am running Windows 7 (64bit). I was able to install Halo with no problem, but when i patched the game, I got an error saying my CD Key is invalid. I know for SURE that my CD Key is valid, its just that the update from Bungie messes with the registry value that contains the CD Key check. What can I do about this?
(Ive called Microsoft, and ive tried to use a key they gave me, but I still got the same problem.)

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

Haven't seen this problem before. Enter, hacks:

Since I don't know the legitimate answer. You can use this version changer to play on patched servers with unpatched Halo PC. Or you can patch to a version that still accepts your CD key after deleting the corrupted registry value.

Back up strings.dll and then drop the files into your Halo folder. Run with -console and use the command version 1.09. Should allow you to play online.
